790 the Zone the Reuban's Take on Dwyer

By the way I'm just ****in with you man. I have no clue if you got a brother on the team. I just know I would always see info from other sites show up here from you so it seems weird.

I don't know Eric seems to always have pretty good information. At least someone has something interesting to add to the board.

Who the heck is reuben?

Don't know about CU, but could see that playing 8 in 12 might have taken a little bit during um game.

Not saying that altered the result.

I would hope somebody might have a little more consideration for our S/As in the future.

2 TNG in one season sucks.

Eric, I'm sure your brother does play for GT. I don't have any reason to not believe you, but unless your brother is Jonathan Dwyer then you can't say anything for certain. You know how these things go; Dwyer says he might go pro to a buddy, the buddy says he's probably going pro to another player, that player says it's a lock to another guy.

It's amazing what credibility people give to 20-year-old college students.

I actually think my brother knows you ISH.

Were you one of the equipment managers?

Yeah, gt23, I also don't have reason to doubt your brother plays for GT, but I also doubt Dwyer told your brother directly that he is absolutely, positively going to be going pro.

I work at my company, but a lot of the rumors I hear are part of a game of telephone where things get out of hand. Sometimes these rumors about me have gotten out of hand and I hear back a much more embellished story than ever happened or I ever told somebody.

Dem has a good bit more credibility than you on this board, so I'll have to take his word before yours, whether or not your brother plays for GT.

his brother plays in the freakin band! Now.. his twin sisters start on Defense. Jamie Peters and Janice Tarrant.

I was an equipment manager from Fall '05-Spring '08.

Now I'm really curious though. Who's your brother? Send me a PM if you want.

Being this early in the season I wouldn't think any player knows definitively if they are going to go pro. It's a long season.

My thought is that if D. Morgan continues to get sacks and play well he will leave, but if opponents double team him and make him ineffective like Miami then he will stay.

If Burnett returns to last years form and is at the top of the team in tackles and INTs then he will likely leave.

Same thing for JD - he will need to return to form. I think if he gains less than 1000 yrs on the year he may stay.

I think D Thomas is leaving regardless. He is a stud wideout who has the ability to block.

Even if any or all the players have 'down' years - they could improve their stock with good combines and such. Especially D Thomas and JD.

Also, I don't believe the rookie salary cap is official yet.

JD seems to be the one who has the most to lose by not putting up solid numbers this year. I heard Chris Mortenson stating the other day that half the scouts he had spoken with thought he was simply a system back that wouldn't translate as well into the NFL. The other half obviously thought he was solid but if he doesn't put up numbers this year then the previous perception might begin to take hold with the remaining scouts.

I'm sure seeing his name at 15 on some mock draft boards is making him strongly consider leaving after this year but I think the premise that he is on cruise control this year because he is leaving is a false one. He has way too much to lose by taking that tact.

Believe what you want but Dwyer is going pro.

Aren't you the same guy who said Johnson was going to UT(k)?

You may have a brother on the team. My brother played college football too. And he says that most college football players are like other college students. They talk a lot about their futures, they dream, they share those dreams, but those dreams aren't often rooted in reality or what those people intend to do (or can do). In my experience, he is correct.

Most college football players I've met think about the NFL. Not surprising. Big stage. Good money. A great job.

Most finance majors think about wall street firms. Only a few get there. Most of us dream and talk big.

I'm sure words are exchanged in the lockerroom and on the practice field, and you've probably heard what people have said. But that doesn't mean it is what people will do or can do.

Morgan has shown the most so far this season. Ergo, I'd be least surprised if he leaves when he is able to. Dwyer and Burnett have shown the potential to do the same. But so far this year, we haven't seen it (largely because of cast on one hand and poor blocking on the other).

I don't think either of them are playing poorly because of the NFL being on their mind. I think they both understand that their current play would only lead them to a fate worse than M. Johnson regarding their draft stock.

As for the team, I do think that conditioning is the root of most of our problems right now. They are losing focus and playing sloppy due to being tired and this might have less to do with having too little conditioning and more to do with too much. The whole team is a step slow right now and making some simple mistakes on their assignments.

The good news is that they've had 10 days now to rest which should help shake whatever effects they were feeling in the beginning of the season.

I think this may be the case. PJ said the week before the season started that they were leg tired. They are playing slower than I've seen them play in over a year. They may have over-trained this fall. That, plus 3 games in 12 days can account for some of what we have been seeing.
