ND's inability to convert 3rd downs in 2006 was mainly because of dropped passes. ND didn't execute.
although the grass is definitely thicker (and higher) than other fields, it doesn't appear to be nearly as high as you would suggest (over their shoes... 8".... please).
okay. but your longevity doesn't really make your opinion more or less qualified.Oatmeal, I've been watching college football on tv and in person since the 60's.
really? The ND grass was the highest grass I have ever seen anywhere for that 2005 game. It was totally covering the players shoes
http://www.dietler.net/nd/videos/quickplay/?video=2005_usc_divxand by my guess was probably 4" tall or more.

he didn't ignore the question. he refuted it and laughed about the whole accusation. video evidence is widely available, but nobody (other than USC) said anything about the grass -- anyone could've argued Weis's statement if it were untrue by using basic media footage. The fact that Weis ignored the question doesn't mean it wasn't really there.
completely different scenario. snow vastly inhibits movement.Go running in 2" of snow and you'll find yourself naturally picking your feet up more and running slower.
i can agree with this... if the grass is much, much higher than normal. but, looking back at the highlights, the difference is minimal at worst.Longer grass, likewise, does in fact affect how you run and/or how you perceive yourself running.
you sound like they are going to make the grass barely playable. you've completely blown it out of proportion. i just find it odd how no other team has ever mentioned the "dangers" of notre dame's phantom weeds. All I mentioned here was that we should be prepared for it.
for the record, Weis has a better away record than home record (ignoring neutral site games). If I was in Weis' situation, I'd grow it 12" long if I could get away with it.
