  • Overall team discipline has improved (less penalties)
  • I think he’s a coach that genuinely wants to be here and one that we could build around for years to come
  • Recruiting is improving even though it hasn’t completely showed just yet. 5 four stars committed in the current recruiting class.
  • No off the field issues or classroom issues
  • All the marketing and branding we didn’t have before will pop once we begin to win more consistently
  • Offense has improved and is more diverse. We look like a team that can actually throw a forward pass.
  • A lot of offensive talent coming back next year. I think it’s fair to assume continued growth on that side of the ball.
  • He‘s had successful defenses in the past, so the ability to produce is there. Maybe he gets more hands on in the off season?
  • Through all of this he hasn’t lost the locker room. That speaks volumes if we were being honest when kids aren’t playing the blame game on each other or directing toward the coaches.
  • Frustrating we haven’t seen it on the scoreboard yet but the team has improved since year 1 for this staff. We could have won several more games this year that would have given us a completely different outlook on the future.
  • Special teams have gotten better overall. The kickoffs are reaching the end zone and if a team takes it out I don’t just assume they’ll be starting at the 35/40 like I would before. Still need a field goal kicker but current one is a slight improvement over last year.
  • I believe the current staff has the ability and acumen to improve. They are a group of smart men. Collins is still young in his tenure as a head coach and will get it figured out.
Let’s see how we finish the year. Let’s see how the team and recruiting class continues to react to the adversity. I personally don’t want major turnover on the staff. If and when a decision is made to move on I would then want them all gone. They need to get it figured out as a unit. THWG and in time we are going to forget about these down years. Like a good stock sometimes patience pays off with exponential growth.

Go away GT Atheltic Department Intern/employee. I bet I could copy this into a google search and find it on every GT fan website.

Ha ... I was thinking suit case.

He won't fit in a suit case.

The comical thing is him wanting to be here long term as a selling point. First of all, this is the same dude that left and was shady on the way out when he went to Alabama as a recruiting coordinator. He has never stayed anywhere long enough to care and will say whatever used car bs you want to hear. Second of all, he sucks.

Great point. He could have stayed the first time he was here if he really wanted to be here all that bad.

The case for Collins:$$$ or lack thereof
The case against: literally everything having to do with the product on the field

öööö off. You and him both. I’m tired of hearing this like it’s his saving grace. We don’t ööööing want him to be here.
He wants to be here for 2.8 million reasons. Paid top 55 coaching, producing bottom 5.

A case of the dumbass for Collins? He doesn’t need any help.

The only positive takeaway is that Clown collins is much closer to the end of his tenure than the beginning.
I hope the upcoming transition won't be so monumental.Sooner is better.

Thanks for the post. The attitude here (myself included) is understandably very negative right now, but you're right that there are some positive signs.

It was really important to show results this year, but unfortunately we didn't and we can see what that's doing to the fanbase. That just makes it even more critical to win at least six next year. Let's hope some of these positive signs turn into actual wins.
