a few notes..

I don't really agree with that. Tony Dungy is both respected and loved by his players. Gregg Popovich shares a great, almost brotherly relationship with Tim Duncan. All the Cowboys players love Wade Philips, and they are doing very well in his first year as coach. The problem isn't that the team loves Chan; it's just that he isn't a very good head coach.

I'm sure it can't be any worse than the team they came to watch getting monkey stomped on national television.

The Monkey Stompage was probably worse, you're right about that, but why make it that much worse with the booing?

It's just dumb. It's cutting your nose off to spite your face.

In the interest of credit where credit is due...
No one booed Taylor after his #th interception.
...this is true, and I do remember times when AJ Suggs got booed off the field by Tech fans. And AJ NEVER had a game as bad as this one.

Is it that we're making slow progress towards maturity, or we just expect bad QB play now?

Actually I think people are placing the blame where it properly lies.

If I told you in 2002 that we'd be pining for AJ Suggs in 2007 what would you say?

I agree, but I think the point is more being a friend doesn't mean crap....and not being a friend doesn't mean crap either. Either way, they have to be respected and a good coach.

Mora, wasn't a good coach, was a friend, but I don't think commanded respect.

Dungy is a good coach, a friend and is widely respected. Like Popovich etc etc.

My point is...you can be respected and successful without being a friend; I think that is what I was trying to get at.

thats fine. I have had the same opinion about your opinions on the coaching topic since day one...that you don't know what you are talking about either.

I know you Jon and I think you are letting things get a bit personal. You have no idea what I was going to say, and for you to make that comment was out of line.

If you have a problem with my thoughts on Chan and this team I would be more than happy to buy you lunch to discuss.

Everybody on this board knows who I am, I don't hide behind the keyboard like some do so I am fair game for criticism.

Exellent John I gain more respect for you every post.

Everyone's getting offtrack. Nobody said anything about Chan being anyone's friend. They said the players love him. Seems to me that would have more to do with respect than friendship.

Hell, I'd pay for my own lunch, just to see what a bunch of Stingtalkers bitching at the lunch table actually looks like.

I work in Alpharetta.

Booing your coach after a terrible loss on a nationally televised night with LOTS OF RECRUITS VISITING is about the dumbest thing anyone could do.

How so? Anything to possibly expedite his canning is a positive in my book.

Anyway...regardless of how we feel about the coach...it was low class to boo him when he is doing a "don't drink and drive" commercial on the jumbotron. There were two sidewalk fans next to me who immediately said to each other that they "thought GT fans had more class than that". They were truly shocked. I just sat there and bit my tongue because I had no rebuttal for them.

Seeing a loss like that is not a good thing...but seeing the head man boo'd (sp?) by his own fans is horrible for 17 year old recruits. Omoregie Uzzi and Matt Roark were there....as were 10 current commits...and about 15 top in-state juniors for 2009.

We already have enough problems...why make it worse. arrgh.

This was truly the lowest point of a miserable night for me. If I were coaching material, I would not want to coach for Georgia Tech after seeing that. Throw a brick through my window, threaten my family, or boo my image on a nationally televised game and I'm out of here.

Hoping your team loses in order to get someone fired is COMPLETELY DISGUSTING. Sabotaging your teams recruiting, thereby weakening the player talent of not only the current coach but any replacement he may have, is EQUALLY, COMPLETELY, DISGUSTING.

Go root for NC State.

Bennett should have been replaced after the 1st qtr. Gailey has always failed to make changes when
they are obviously needed.
Gaily is out of space - out of time and it's time to
hit the road
