I can't say I would be unhappy with a loss to Duke...but there is NO WAY I could physically or mentally root against GT. No fan should be able to.

If you mean by "it would seal the deal for Gailey", that he would be fired, why would that matter. We've lost to that bunch from over yonder on the other side of the tracks every year. Didn't cost CCG anything then.

If I knew we just flat out HAD to lose, I'd rather lose to Duke than that other bunch. At least T.Roof is a GT man.

Why would it even matter at all anymore anyway? We're getting fairly proficient at this losing and danged good at it. If you read my earlier post, you'd see that losing just ain't no big deal anymore. We may get our panties in a wad over many things like the prices at the concessions, or parking in another time zone for a game, or long lines at the out house, etc., but losing?, nahhhhhhh. Not anymore. Get used to it. Just take our games with a grain of salt and get ready for the next one.
 
why does everyone humor him by responding? just ignore and eventually he will go away when nobody responds to him...

That's actually a pretty weak analogy for this situation. I don't want to get into a big thing. Just letting you know... for future reference and all.

Wanting GT to win because we are GT fans does not constitute group think. Group think is established by reinforcing bad ideas over and over and over. Rooting for GT is not a bad idea. Its what all yellow jackets do. Now, blindly following poor decision making and making excuses...THAT is group think.
 
of course... and some here are a wee bit uptight.. usually this ;) indicates a joke. If GT loses (which we all know won't happen)... just pointing out that it won't be all bad for the future of our program. sad that some have to have this s-p-e-l-l-e-d out for them.

That's your perspective...a loss to Duke would be "funny" and not all bad. :fingersx:

My perspective is that it would be simply great to go 9-4 this year. Not the 14-0 I wanted, but still great. :D
