I am going to explain this in a slow and simple manner so that your university of georgia education won't be stretched to the limit.

This is a Georgia Tech website. That means you are second class citizens here. The freedom of speech policies that exist for GT fans do not exist for you. We welcome your insight on games, strategy and general sports talk. But know this. If you step outside of the tight parameters that exist for you, you are history. We don't care how things are done on your farm. We don't care if your cousins marry each other. You can talk about this stuff on your own websites. If you try to turn this board into your own little cesspool with moronic comments, allegations, or innuendo, you are history. There will be no warnings, no "temporary suspension". Your existence will be erased permanently here. Have a nice day.

I have already knocked off 3 dogfans, so we may be speaking to ourselves. I think those were the main offenders.

That is what the whistle (in the right corner) is for. If you see an offensive post zap it to me.
 
I guess I just don't understand why TECH folks are so afraid of words and opinions other than their own.
What opinion is so bad that someone would have to complain to the moderators about it?
 
BeeWare, count yourself lucky to be a Tech fan. If you or I were a dog fan, we probably would have been gone a long time ago. Surely, you see the wisdom in differentiating between the contents of dog posts and Tech posts.

My brother can call me names that I would not allow others to use. It is understandable for the same reasoning to be used here.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Your opinion on this matter is not asked for nor is it needed. Luckily we were notified of the offending post quickly and were able to remove it before it was widely read. So don't concern yourself with what is was.

And since YOU use up ALL of our tolerance, we have no more to share with the dog fans. So basically, the booted offenders can blame your directly.

To specifically answer your question.....I was taking up for freedom of speech...something that is sometimes held dear in America.

Also, if I was a dog fan, I would be very satisfied and very happy with the current situation at TECH.
 
I can understand your point about freedom of speech... and in principle certainly agree with you... but there are certain "freedoms of speech" that arent free at all... I cant yell "fire" in a public place, unless there is one of course... it wouldnt be appropriate for me to go into a Jewish Temple and began preaching on the virtues of Christianity...

As we have discussed in the past, one of the things that makes StingTalk such a good board is the freedom that is allowed concerning posts... but there is still the question of what is appropriate... to me there is a difference.. I am free to post whatever I want.. but I am also responsible should that post be deemed inappropriate.

The Admins on this board, or the Hive, or any board are the ones who determine what is and what isnt appropriate... they are the ones who put forth the effort to start and maintain the site. they deteremine the "freedom"... if I want to play on their playground.. I have to respect their rules..

BeeWare, the Constitutional guarantee of free speech accompanies the right of peaceful assembly;when leghumpers come onto our GT board they disturb our right to peaceful assembly when they fail to conduct themselves as gentlemen as defined by our standards.

Btw, BW, are you ready to sign my petition to reinstate drownproofing as a graduation requirement;I think it helped to weed out those who were not mentally disciplined enough to finish GT!

Bee Storm, I appreciate your stand. We have had too many abrasive flea bags preening and struting over the FB game and my tolerance for that is non existant. Again thanks.
 
Did you really just bring up Freedom of Speech? On a message board? Seriously, are you really ignorant enough to think that it applies in this situation?
