I'm officially done with scoping out the opposing fans this week. I can't handle the general ignorance and sheer stupidity of far too large a portion of the Virginia Tech fanbase. I hope they have a safe trip to Atlanta, I hope we kick the ever-loving **** out of their team and I hope they have a safe, sad trip back to East Bum**** Nowhere.

If Duke had any running game at all, they'd have beaten Virginia Tech.

Duke had a healthy 359 yards passing against the Turkeys but only averaged 1.2 yards per carry.
 
Duke has the 10th most passing yards per game in the nation. Give them a real running game and they'd be better than a lot of teams. Of course, it's really kind of a dumb comment because you can say that about any team...getting a good running game isn't exactly a minor tweak.
 
Here's a fun little comparison of total yardages:

VT: 477 (+80)
Duke: 397

VT: 155
Bama: 498 (+343 DAMN!)

Turkey fans are just upset that they're a lot closer to being Duke than they are to being up there with the legit NC contenders. They might beat us because our defense is struggling, but they're not an elite team. Someone who is posting over there, feel free to point this out to them.

VT fans remind me quite a bit of UNC fans before our game with them. Also, of GT fans before our game with Miami. All three fanbases suffered from a serious case of "previous success is an indicator of future success."

Our only retort for these clowns is to win.

Not horribly impressive when they did most of it against Richmond, North Carolina Central, Kansas and North Carolina State. Two of them are FCS, the other two have rather unimpressive defense against the pass.

They may end up throwing for 600 yards against us, but so far the only team with a decent pass defense that Duke has been great against was Virginia Tech.

...I'll get with Bobby Dodd and we'll go out there to the 50 yard line and do some angels-in-the-outfield style intervention sh** to VT.
