I know, the biggest sign that our offense is clicking is that we've scored 21 points on 4 plays from scrimmage (thanks FSU). But, there is something that I've noticed the last two games that people aren't talking about, and it involves the general motion of the entire line when we run our offense.
When our offense is really clicking, the action of the play reminds me of a waterfall or a line of dominos falling down. There is a huge amount of momentum down the field, like a mass of players moving in one direction. I've noticed this with Navy's offense as well.
To me, it means our O-line is coming hard off the ball and we're getting downfield with our blocks. The "domino effect" occurs because the D-line is diving at a ball carrier or being cut, and then a few linebackers get cut as well, so defenders are literally falling down to try to stop the play. This means good things for our offense, because Dwyer or Josh is getting 6-7 yards per carry up the middle, and its only a matter of time before one of those LB's or Safety's cheat inside and Anthony Allen is on the edge with nobody in front of him.
I can't recall seeing us play like that at any time last year, even against FSU or UGA or Miami when we started scoring big. I hope it continues today!
