Just curious about some of the things you guys have heard about this recruit, cause the more I find out about him the more it looks like this guy will be a great QB for us. He doesn't 'seem' to be as beastly an athlete as Aycock 'seemed' to be (' ' because I'm a bad judge). Tom Luginbill has big praises for his abilities as a passer. He runs a 4.55 40 according to the AJC (not Dwyer or Jones fast but enough to be a threat). Also, he is rated as the 4th best scrambler on Rivals.com (handy with an OL not built for drop back pass protection maybe?). But the thing I've found most interesting is how often AJC reports news of him visiting or something to do with Georgia Tech, which is impressive considering he lives in Indiana.

This is just a hunch on my part, but I have a feeling this could be a QB who has an impact as Fr (or R. Fr if coaches think so) and his actions during this Stephen Hill thing show some leadership potential. Comments?

I like reports of the kid's character, his strong desire to be at Georgia Tech, and willingness to lead his peers.

He's timed perfectly too if he works out.

Next year - redshirt
year after - understudy 3rd yr starter
after that - compete for the job and either win it because he's really good or lose it because he's really good but somebody else is even better

I think Luallen is a great kid and will definately be a "leader" of the future. However, I spent hours watching film of our new recruits last night and came away far more impressed with Sims. Sims seemed almost untouchable at times, his fakes/pitches were nasty, and I think he was just as good a passer as Luallen if not better. It's a good problem to have, but just from a film standpoint I was more impressed with Mr. Sims. Hopefully 2 years from now there will an epic competition between Jaybo, Sims, and Luallen.

CPJ seemed to go out of his way to say their will be competition at the QB position this spring.

Competition at QB is exactly what we need.

Competition at QB is always good, but I think we are in good hands with Nesbitt. The improvement he showed through the course of the year was a good sign.

I'm definately a fan of Nesbitt, but its no secret that his passing skills need to improve. He has the arm, I think he just needs the motivation. Hopefully, he has some motivation now.

Also, I think what CPJ meant about competition this spring is the fact that it seems like he doesn't care who was the starter the previous week, if you look better in practice you're the starter (maybe not the policy in season but for spring it could be).

His first desire was to go to ugag, believe it or not, because his mother, I believe, went there and is a big dawg fan. When ugag signed Aaron Murray, CPJ and staff must have jumped in and reccruited him hard. It will be great to have him.

Yep....Paul Johnson was very clear in his comments this morning that Josh was nowhere near where he needed to be as a passer...and followed it by saying we had to have a good passing game next year and that this past year the "passing game was not good".

Correct.

UGA wanted to sign 2 QB's this year. A Dual Thread QB and a ProStyle QB.

This was their EXACT big board...

Dual Threat---
1. Aaron Murray (UGA)
2. Jordan Luallen (GT)

Pro Style---
1. Zach Mettenberger (UGA)
2. Tom Savage (Rutgers)

i believe that this was their EXACT board, because they are so stupid they dont realize that its a DUAL threat QB, not a Duel threat QB who would only be good on the dueling range and not the football field
