ACC coach rankings 2022

Who looked slower? The guys who wasn’t executing their assignments?

This is true, scheme can make players look worse even if they are physically improved. Cottrell looked more muscular, but not any faster. Mason looked both slower and weaker. But both of those guys were in dramatically different positions when they got the ball.
The entire secondary looked slower. But or backs and safeties were on a different page so often, it’s funny impossible to tell if anyone was improved or not.
The real tell is 40, shuttle, and vertical times/measurements.

The fact is that the perception of Collins will not change until he starts to win. He's been a good recruiter everywhere he's been but hasn't shown us that he can coach and we're tired of waiting. It's put up or shut up time.

Tell me you know absolutely nothing without telling me you know absolutely nothing. Coach Lew is highly respected by his peers. We are lucky to have him.

I guess we look better greased up in the weight room / getting off the bus, but when you win 3 games a year for 3 years straight, everything is going to be looked at with a skeptical eye.

We’ve been told for three years that the S&C is better, that the use of technology is better, that the coaching staff is better, that the recruiting is better, that the marketing is better… If everything is better, why do we still look like a god damn monkey humping a lunch box when we’re on the field during games?

That’s as bad as judging the shipping department by what the company’s overall profits.

Maybe the profits are down because the packages are too heavy and always arrive late. :-)

That may be but you can’t judge that simply by looking at the profits - which is what you’ve essentially done.

Not really. I’m just saying that based on factual evidence (our performance on the field including but not limited to the W/L record) that claims about improvement to any aspect of operations that contribute to what we can observe should be viewed skeptically.

Maybe the improvements aren’t really there, maybe without the improvements we’d be even worse, maybe we’ve improved some aspects but others have actually gotten worse. I’m just not interested in hearing “among the best in the country” about anything associated with the football program until we start producing some results.

I know we suck.
I know we look weaker and slower. Oh, look, BC's moose QB just ran through us without anybody laying a hand on him or running him down again. Hell, I know I can outrun an elk. I've done it before.
I know I couldn't give a crap what Coach Lew's peers think of him.
I know if he's supposed to be all that and a pack of crackers, why are we still getting pushed around and blown by on the football field?

I stand by my statement then. I know that Tariq and Juanyeh only got a sniff from NFL teams because of their physical performance at the combine which was a product of Lew’s S&C program.

Plenty of people expected them both to be NFL prospects before Lew and CGC were ever on the scene. I won't say Lew didn't help secure that for them since coaching obviously didn't, but I don't think you can claim without Lew they wouldn't have gotten looks either.

I didn't see a lot of respect for the players lifting weights on the sidelines on gamedays. Perhaps that was a Geef idea though and Lew was against it.

The disrespect you’re talking about was coming from Tech‘a so called “fans” not from other S&C coaches in the industry. I’d also assume that was a CGC idea.

It was derided by a helluva lot more than just Tech fans, and seeing as nobody else started doing it and we stopped doing it, I'm guessing its far more likely other S&C coaches were thinking it was dumb but stayed professional and didn't say it publicly.

The sideline barbell curls were literally the stupidest thing I have seen in my entire life on a football sideline.
