Wow, I wanted to go back and see how much clock we lost because of all that BS officiating on that one drive. It all started at the end of the 3rd quarter. They had the ball 2nd and 11, and we stop them for a loss which should've made it 3rd and 12. Antwan Owens gets called for unsportsmanlike conduct in the absolute worst call I've ever seen. He says something to the RB as he's getting up then looks away and starts clapping and the ref throws the flag on him. If they're going to throw the flag for that, Pitt should've had 20 of them called this game. Total BS. So, 15 yards, free first down. Then missed a tackle on jet sweep that should've been 5 yard gain max, and ends up going for 20 because Tariq gets tackled in the back then when he gets up and shoves the guy somebody on the Pitt sideline starts fighting with him. But we both get the offsetting PF's there. Two plays later, phantom PI call. If you are wondering, in college you are allowed to put hands on the receiver and get him off his route before the ball is in the air. That's what we did and get flagged for PI. Two plays later, it's 3rd and 3, line to gain is the 6 yard line. I have the game replay, from the side angle you can completely see the runner is down with the ball around the 7. They give him the 1st and never review it. No hurry up play by the offense or anything but the booth still never buzzed down. Pitt should've been kicking that FG with about 12:00 on the clock. Two plays later 3rd and goal from the 2, Pitt gets flagged for breaking huddle with 12 men, Narduzzi throws a bitch fit and the refs have to talk about it so he basically gets a free timeout to get his 3rd and goal play set up. So now 3rd and goal from the 7, Pitt LT #77 with a huge hold on Ryans, had him around the neck, no flag, and the infamous "late hit out of bounds" called on Juanyeh. Pickett and his OL jawing the whole time. Then the BS with the 15yard unsportsmanlike on Pitt but after they give them the 1st down. A late hit OOB and a dead ball foul should offset. Should've again been 3rd down, instead they get a 1st. Then on 2nd down we get the 5 min ref conference for who knows what. Finally get the stop, and Pitt false starts on the FG. Not sure on declining that, but I assume it was to make it a harder angle for the kick. So there is 8:04 left on the clock. Pitt gained 4 mins of possession at minimum because of piss poor officiating on that drive. Could've been even more, because the 4th quarter should've started with Pitt in 3rd and 12 situation backed up in their own end. So possibly 7 mins given to them by the refs.
