Anyone know when they will release this info?
And what do you fellows think would be best?

I myself hope we play VT early, perhaps even on a Thurs night. Would be pleasant if we could embarrass them on national TV.

Also, am I the only one who thinks it is kind of pointless for FBS schools to schedule FCS schools?

I looked at our schedule in 2011. Our OCC games are Ole Miss and UGA, which are nice, and Western Carolina and Middle Tennessee State, which I believe are both FCS schools...

what conference is MTSU from? Problem the same as troys or tulsas', closest thing to an FCS.

Sun Belt Conference eh?
That sounds encouraging..... :ugh:

IMO, FBS/FCS match-ups are a no-win situation for any FBS team. Either you blow them out like your expected to or you lose and are the laughing stock of every other FBS school.

Simulation of what happens to an FBS school when they loose to an FCS school:

:behead: + :bricks:

An FCS game is a near-automatic W that counts towards bowl-eligibility AND BCS rankings. So, yeah, I'll take it over a game vs. USC or Florida.

When has an FCS win ever helped a teams ranking? It hurts the computer component for SOS.

As far as an auto win is concerned, tell that to Michigan last year. Or better yet, I'd say Gardner-Webb almost contradicted you.

I'd rather have all FBS opponents. Play a team time that has the FBS title with the FCS talent like, say, MTSU.

Notice I said "near-automatic." Michigan is the exception to the rule. Also notice Gardner-Webb "almost" contradicted me - as in it didn't.

SOS is overrated as it's barely even considered in the human polls.

Utah and Boise State would like to have a word with you. More specific to this year, Utah.

I don't like the FCS games. I wish they schedule lower-tier FBS teams instead.

If they'd play us, then we'd schedule them. But an Iowa State or an Indiana won't want to play us.

I would love a home-and-home with IU, as I know a decent number of students there and my undergrad is only 45 minutes away from IU. Beating up on them would be glorious.

Utah and Boise St. got screwed not because of SOS, but because they're not in a BCS conference.

USC is a different story. I agree they got screwed, but I don't believe it has anything to do with SOS. It has more to do with timing and the lack of a conference championship game (see Florida).

USC lost to a team that finished second in conference

UF lost to a team that finished worse than second (I don't know and don't care where they finished.)

Except USC lost on a Thursday night, Florida lost on a Sat while other games were on.

And I wouldn't be surprised if it could be proven the media favors the SEC.
