SUN BOWL UPDATE:
"It's still a mess over there, depending on what happens," Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl executive director Bernie Olivas said of the ACC. "They're all bunched up. ... North Carolina would have been good but I don't know if they'll have a coach or not. "Boston College has never been here, maybe Pittsburgh. I have a feeling Duke will be taken above us, same as Syracuse." Virginia-Virginia Tech winner will be in consideration from ACC
As for the Pac-12 Legacy, "It's down to Washington, Southern Cal or Cal," Olivas said. "Things could happen if Washington State beats Wyoming, but I think overall it's going to be Washington, USC or Cal. Not necessarily in that order."
By rule Cal can't play someone it has already played in the regular season, which would rule out several match-ups against ACC teams. This problem is not unique to the Sun Bowl, with 10 of the 12 Pac-12 Legacy schools now in other power conferences.

Your guess is as good as anyone's, but Duke's Mayo will never pick a school outside NC or Virginia if possible, and there are too many options for them this year ahead of choosing Tech.
