So how many people does a team have to be down before they don't have enough players. Is it up to the coach to decide or is it a hard and fast number? For example, let's say Clemson is down a ton of guys late in the year, fighting to make the playoff. Can Dabo decide that having 30 guys suit up is "enough" for that week? Kind of extreme I know, but you get the point.

I suspect coaches will make the call based on who is out among other factors. 4 players may be enough to call it if all 4 are from your starting OL. Didn't we cancel the Miami game last season because we had several people out and the game didn't matter to us?

And I'm not sure whether or not you know how close to the stands our sideline is, and what goes on behind that space between the sidelines and the stands. There is a constant scurry of activity from folks interacting with players, coaches, and officials on the sidelines. The science shows that talking can generate droplets that linger in the air for some time. Add in the coughing, sneezing, and yelling that take place in the stands, and the fact that the Delta variant is more contagious. We have no idea yet whether players can catch this Delta variant from the stands. But why run the risk when you don't have to?

Well, to be fair the “science” AFTER 9/20/20, 8 months or more into the pandemic said it transmitted via droplets. Maybe it was via the toilet seat before that? Sharp as a butter knife these medical experts are.
