Who in the hell ever said there was a committee doing any searching?
It sounds to me more like the Old Guard got played by PJ. He wasn't on our (DRad's) original list for consideration. Then, suddenly, he announces his interest in our job after the Army-Navy game is over and he has already been linked to the SMU and Duke jobs. SMU wouldn't consider Duke a threat in a bidding war, but they would have to take an offer from Tech seriously.
Why was PJ's announcement of interest in our job so public, when he wasn't even on our list to begin with? And why would DRad drop everything to suddenly consider him, when he didn't even want to talk to him before? There's some big money alum that's going to look like a dumbass in the search committee meeting, if you ask me.
Oh yeah, I did.:oUh, you did.
THere is actually an outside exec search firm handling the set up of interviews and contacting of candidatesOh yeah, I did.:o
And I remember thinking then that it was a poor choice of words seeing as how DRad said in his statement at Chan's firing that he would be bringing candidates before Dr. Clough and the committee for approval. He never said they'd be searching, just approving.
Nothing to see here. We now return you to your regularly schedule wailing, handringing, and gnashing of teeth.
Search committee. Dammit.
That's not the one to which I was referring.THere is actually an outside exec search firm handling the set up of interviews and contacting of candidates
