Let's just go old school. Eliminate all of the superfluous bowls. Go back to the traditional bowl games and make going to a bowl game a reward for a really great season instead of just a 7th game for most bowl teams now.

In thinking about Texas, I always find it interesting that Coach Dodd almost left Tech to become the coach at Texas. After he turned the job down, the Texas administration asked Coach Dodd who they should go after and Coach said Darrell Royal. Coach later said that if that job had come open a year or two later he would have taken it in a heartbeat.
