According to Augustachronicle online there is a 100% chance he is gone to NFL regardless of whether there is a lockout or not.

No surprise here. Houston is probably gone too. The interesting part will be seeing if the on the fence guys like Cordy Glen and Boykin go. There is a good chance for some serious suckitude in Athens next year.:hsnono:

They lose 2 of their best OLmen as well. And their leading tackler, Akeem Dent. They also lose their All-SEC punter.

Also, expect a sophomore slump from their small quarterback. He'll probably get beat the hell up next year.

Who do lose on the oline?

I think Ben Jones, who has started at center forlikever.

They lose their starting RT, RT and backup C. They lose both Green and Durham who had over 70 catches between them (with Green missing 4 games). They lose both FB's, and it look like they may lose starting RB, King, and maybe Ealey, too.

On D, they lose both RDE's, a backup DL, and 3 of 4 starting LB's (if Houston jumps).

They will be challenged next year, but they have a lot of talent.

is going to be drafted by the Cleveland Browns...

Where would Ealey go to? He'll be a junior next season.

Ben Jones isn't going anywhere.

They'll still have a solid backfield, assuming they can find another giant white FB to fill in for Chapas/Munzenmaier, but they've done it every time before.

The O-line will only lose Boling as a starter (and 3 backups), but will be senior-heavy next year (Sturdivant, Glenn, Jones, and maybe Strickland if they push Gates to tackle) so that's their best hope.

Murray obviously looks really good at times and should improve, but he's going to lose his top 2 receivers. King is a great speed threat and will be super dangerous if he gets better running routes. Brown's a big guy, I think Wooten's better, but too small to be an impact player.

The tight ends are stacked with Charles, White and Figgins.

Defense will lose 3 of the 4 DEs on the 2-deep, but only Dobbs is a starter.

LB will lose 3 starters (Houston, Dent, Gamble) and Hebron the backup.

Secondary will return all the starters though and only "lose" Vance Cuff (not a loss, imo). Plus they have a lot of freshmen and sophomore impact players in these spots.

If non-Tavarres King receivers step up and Grantham can replace the outside rushing guys in the 3-4, it sets up well. If not, it will look a lot like the non-AJ games.

There is a rumor floating around that he was looking to transfer back home to GSU (he played hs at ECI). Supposedly he didn't like splitting carries. Now that C. King is almost assuredly gone next year, Ealey may not be so motivated to leave.

Why is King gone? Just because it sounds like he's ineligible for the bowl game doesn't mean he has to skip his RS Sr season.

Have I missed some news?

Why is King gone?
C. King failed all but one of his classes this semester and fell short of the progress towards degree requirements of the NCAA. While it is still technically possible for him to regain eligibility for the fall, his academic prowess doesn't make this very feasible. It is expected that he will just go ahead and enter the upcoming draft and start his pro career.*

Yep, to think a marginal student (even by UGAg standards) will make up all that work in the next two semesters - while maintaining a full load - is dreamland.

Ealey is said to be looking to transfer. He is also a marginal student, from what I hear.

No. He is a very good student.

You must not have read his thesis regarding the Boogeyman.

Ben Jones is staying? Good, I want another shot at him. Someone needs to rub his face in the turf at Bobby Dodd next year.

You they will bad enough to lose to us next year?
