Alabama getting LSU'ed.

This blows. I think Alabama will make their run later, but I really don't want Utah to win. One of the reasons being an idiot I work with is a big Utah fan that was talking **** today about our loss.
 
Wow, Utah's offensive line is the definition of stout. Brian can take a power nap behind that line.

Anyway, I just took a look at Utah's schedule. They need to move out of that crap conference of theirs and start strengthening their schedule.

I still think Alabama will tie this up before it's over.
 
This is taking a way just a teeny bit of the pain away. My SEC biased family is downstairs yelling at everything, and it is nice that at least one team I have wanted to win this season is actually doing so.

The problem is that geographically they're in a rough place. Where would they go? Pac-10?

Let's say they did expand and make it a Pac-12. Who else does the Pac-10 take? There are 1/2 dozen or so other teams that would highly covet that 12th spot, and each would have a valid claim. And then there's the fact that Utah doesn't border any other Pac-10 states. (Not that state borders mattered in the ACC.)
 
Why does PAC-10 need to get two teams? Just ideally?

Geographically, Utah borders Arizona so that shouldn't be an issue.
 
Alabama drive stalls and they miss a field goal, still down 21-3. I'll believe this thing is done if Utah can push it to 28-3, but until then I'm waiting on the beast to wake up and Alabama to come back.

I think they should take BYU and put them and Utah on opposite sides of the new PAC-12 as cross division rivals. That way you get a natural rivalry to move over and two teams that I believe can compete consistently in the PAC-10.

Ooops. Forgot about AZ (easy to do).

You need 12+ teams for a CCG.

While we're at it, ND should just get over itself and its independent status and join the Big Televen.

Ideally, you are right. However, the conference committee can get creative if they so choose as there are no rules against having an odd number of teams in a conference. For example, the MAC conference has 13 teams divided unevenly by East (7 teams) and West (6 teams). Buffalo whooped undefeated Ball State for the MAC title.

I think he meant you need a minimum of 12 teams.

Ah- good point. Is that a BCS or NCAA rule or something? Don't see why the conference can't just decide to have a 5 and 6 team divisions... or just go with 11 teams like ACC did back in 2004.

I am going to be very impressed if Alabama comes back and wins after such a horrible start.
 
What about putting Boise State in? I know they are looking to change conferences.
