Alabama getting LSU'ed.

It's an NCAA rule originally meant for conferences in lower divisions to play for a playoff spot. The SEC just realized that there's no reason a DI-1A conference couldn't use the rule for another game to make money.

I don't feel as bad about our former offensive line anymore. At least Josh knew to try to get away.

See, now we have to listen to a week of Utah fans bitching and moaning about how they should have went to the title game cause they were undefeated.

Sagarin rankings list Utah's SOS at 69.17 which is ranked #70. (link) As a reference point, it listed Tech's SOS at 72.57 ranked at #30.

Good game to Utah regardless. They certainly hit Alabama in the mouth early.

What about putting Boise State in? I know they are looking to change conferences.

+1 Some of these 2nd tier conference teams kinda work out well as package deals. Much like how BC and UM wanted to maintain their in conference rivalry.

I couldn't see Utah going into the PAC without taking BYU with them. That leaves BSU SOL... unless the PAC expanded beyond 12. Strong arguement for 16-team superconferences.

PAC could pick up Utah, BYU, BSU, Hawaii, FSUw & Nevada. Then consolidate what's left of the WAC & MAC. Maybe some drift to the Big XII.

Then disband the Big East and divy them up between ACC, SEC & Big Televen.

...okay, enough thread hijacking.
