All the talk about Ted Roof.....

but I do feel strongly that you don’t make the comment he made today in regards to trying to run down the clock at the end of the half. In my opinion, that is bush league and you can bet your arse he wouldn’t want it said about his offense.

Tech fans love talking tough but hate tough talk

I simply cannot understand how our fan base can be so absurdly critical of our team yet become so indignant at the most glancing slight our coach makes against our performance.

I can understand all the frustration with Ted and his defenses. I am a friend of Ted’s and my brother played with him way back when.

I think Ted is a helluva a football coach. Do I think he could do some things different......I believe we all do. His defenses give up points at inopportune times and they seem to be killer points in regards to momentum or right after we score and so forth.

With that being said, what other successful programs are playing with defensive tackles who are outmanned by an average of 20-30 pounds? When is the last time we have had a big time DT that weighed at least 290? Look at all the teams around the country who are playing with 300-340 pound DT’s that can move.....I think we can all name several. How many programs are playing with corners that are under 6’ and can be called a lock down corner? I, as well as all of you, can name several I am sure. How many do we have? I mentioned this earlier, lockdown corners allow DC’s to expand what they can do with blitz packages and schemes. How many of our current LB’ers can play for a school in the top 25? I like Mitchell, Alexander and our LB’ers and the effort they give, but IMO they are not game changers.

I’m not going to get into the restrictions we have with recruiting because of academics, but I have to believe there are game changing players out there that we can get on The Flats. I don’t think we have them now and I don’t know what the answer is.

Lastly, and I am on the fence I regards to Paul Johnson, but I do feel strongly that you don’t make the comment he made today in regards to trying to run down the clock at the end of the half. In my opinion, that is bush league and you can bet your arse he wouldn’t want it said about his offense.
Well Brandon Adams goes 330 plus but for some inexplicable reason doesn’t get many snaps and he is by far our best space eater in the interior against the run.

What exactly did CPJ state that is so horrible?

All I know is that someone posted a stat last week that Tech has given up 48 pts in the final two minutes of the first half. How do you do that?! Is that even possible? I'm pretty sure we all would be pretty chapped after watching that the whole season and seeing it occur again just a few minutes before the interview.

I did not watch him much today; but last week he was bumping off runners like he had no arms and could only chest bump 'em.

When did he quit posting here?

To be fair if I made up a bunch of shit about PJ wanting a buyout then had the gall to take the field in a pre- (PJ coached) ACCCG ceremony less than a year later I'd probably start keeping a lid on it too.

Our strength and conditioning guy isn't getting it done. Problems with Shamire for 3 years in a row and now Brandon Adams. Hell, our best player (the punter) is fat.

Because Glanton is better. Not nearly as big (listed at 293 lbs now), but better at using leverage and getting off blocks.

IMO his comment was not a glancing slight. You don’t take shots at coaches in public. Carry it behind closed doors. It’s unprofessional.

Then that tells me he isn’t good enough to play, maybe not in shape, or he shouldn’t be playing D1 football.

It’s quite apparent you don’t have a clue. John, as he always has, will speak his mind and can back it up with facts.

The gall to take the field.....what an assanine comment. He was selected to represent GT that night. He didn’t seek the honor, he was rewarded with it. You have no idea how difficult that night was for him and how incredibly proud he was to represent GT that night in Charlotte. Why was it difficult that night? His biggest fan, our father, died the week prior.

So, you can take your cheap shots and shove them up your a$$ pal.

We all cheered loudly for John in Charlotte. He said he could hear us.

If Coach Johnson does decide to make a change, I am 100% for trying to keep him on as a position coach. How about offer him Special Teams Coordinator & LB coach.

CTR ain't gonna take a demotion, not if he has any pride.

He said the same thing to me Dress. He was very appreciative and extremely honored at the reception he received that night.

I don’t miss many things where John is honored, but I couldn’t make it that night sinc I had missed a weeks work for our fathers services the previous week. I know he was touched by the reception he received that night. It has been a tough few days, but he was honored to be on that field that night.

BTW....thanks for yours and everyone else support that night for John.

Who the hell is John and what was he rewarded for at the ACCCG?

John Davis played at GT back in the ‘80’s. Was honored at ACCCG as the GT Legend for that year. It’s something the ACC has been doing for a few years now to honor former players from ACC schools at the ACCCG.

During the interview at the end of the first half, he said he tried to use as much clock as possible, but he guessed 50 seconds was to much to leave. (Paraphrased as I don’t remember exact wording)

Thanks. To be fair, he is/was right. When we scored with 50 seconds left, I told my wife that's plenty of time for UGA to get points. And it was. Our backs played 10 yards off the receivers, we only "rushed" 3 linemen. It's how we lost the 2014 game after taking a 20-0 lead. We can't lose by 3 scores to Duke and get raped at home to uga and someone not pay the price. Nature of the business.

In a vacuum, it’s bad. When your unit has given up nearly 48 or 50 points on the season (if that stat is true as someone else stated) in the last 2 mins of the halves of games, put your big boy pants on and take your medicine.
