Its the offseason and we're all bored and the only thing anyone is talking about is how much we suck or about coaching searches at schools we all hate. So lets liven this place up a bit and talk about some positivity. Here's what I think is the best all-time team from CPJ coached players:
QB: Justin Thomas
B-Back: Jon Dwyer
A-Back: Anthony Allen
A-Back: Orwin Smith
WR: Demaryious Thomas
WR: Deandre Smelter
OT: Errin Joe
OT: Bryan Chamberlain
OG: Shaq Mason
OG: Omorregie Uzzi
C: Freddie Burden
DE: Derrick Morgan
DT: Adam Gotsis
DT: Darryl Richard
DE: Michael Johnson
LB: Quayshawn Nealy
LB: Julian Burnette
LB: Brandon Watts
CB: DJ White
CB: Jemea Thomas
S: Jamal Golden
S: Morgan Burnette
K: Harrison Butker
P: Durant Brooks

A couple of things I've noticed is over the years we've had some öööö good A backs. Also thats a lot of players in the NFL.

Not bad. Errin Joe though? He should be disqualified for simply being associated with this year's OL...

I would put Godhigh in over Smith. Just my opinion though. Maybe Gardner in over one of the tackles as well.

Burden, Joe, and Chamberlain don't belong on this list after the year we just had. Mason is a no-brainer.

I like that you included Orwin. Always felt he was overlooked b/c he didn't run for 200+ yards against UGA like Roddy did, but that dude was awesome.

Durant Brooks left after 2007. never played for CPJ

I think Bedford was a better C than Burden, anyway.

I'd probably do Roddy over Orwin.

The all-CPJ team where all the players may or may not have ever played for CPJ doesn't have quite the same ring

Might as well throw Calvin in there.

I'll take JfN over JT.

Seems like you are missing one of our better defensive players. Who was it that had the injury or illness and had to quit playing football? The name totally escapes me.

Attachou over Watts
At this point, Nesbit over JT but I fully expect JT to take over after next year
I noticed you left Tight Ends off the list

I know every team makes these lists and creams their pants over them. But given the records our '14 offense set (basically breaking the efficiency equations everybody uses) the thought of adding in Demaryius, Uzzi, and Dwyer is silly. A lot of other teams could put together defenses stocked with NFL all-pros that would outmatch the Tech squad. Heck probably 80% of the P5 teams would have better defensive lineups. But I don't think many could put together an offense over this same time frame that could out-perform that Tech lineup. Running behind Uzzi/Mason we'd rarely need to pass. But when we did, we'd have two absolute monsters bringing in everything Thomas could sling around.

Uzzi and Mason together...öööö.

Yeah, based on body of work, I'd take Nesbitt over Thomas at this point. Thomas can still win me over next year, though.

I don't remember much of Anthony Allen at A-Back, so I'd probably go with Godhigh and Smith there.

JRjr

totally forgot about Sneezy. Absolutely belongs on the list.

Denzel McCoy? He never really did anything.

No not him. This is really killing me. Something about a ruptured organ or something. Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought it was a fairly decent player for us.

We have not been great at linebacker and O-line, have we? That's not a great list for eight years.

Whoops completely spaced on Brooks. I chose Orwin cause he was really the only prototypical A back we've ever had other than Allen. I was always mad he didn't get to run enough because the other A backs couldn't run block as well.

Cooper Taylor has Wolf-Parkinson-White. Groh hated him and forced him out. He's now playing a lot for the Giants.

Denzel McCoy had a heart condition. My bet would be hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Was diagnosed the second he stepped foot on campus and never played.

Julian Burnette ööööed up his spine in a bowl game (USC?). Career over.
