I liked Monken when he was here and think he was one of the biggest losses we've had that contributed to the current state of our program, but if we still have this offense after a coaching change then we might as well move down to the AAC.

He and his staff would breathe fresh life into this offense, utilizing the current talent we have, so we aren’t starting over.

He’d have an OC, which would allow him to focus on the big picture while the OC focuses on the O.

He has GA and Southeast connections from his time here and as the GA Southern HC.

I think our goal should be to be the premier destination for option coaches. The service academies would serve as a de facto farm system for our coaching talent.

If Tech goes with another 3O coach in Johnson’s mold, it can pack up football within 10 years. Interest is dwindling in a massive way.

It’s over, man. The TO was a great offense, but the game of football left it behind. Some of its principles live on and teams win big using those principles, but the pure form TO is over.

Whatever tech runs I believe will have elements of option offense. It just needs to look more attractive to younger football players.
