in the NFL all the "bye weeks" for the teams occur from week 4 through week 10 - so that basically the second half of the season all teams are playing on a level playing field (in terms of getting a week off).
Yet, in college football, teams have a week off all the time - at any point in the season. Having a week off is always huge! Tech gets 12 days to prepare for Miami / UNC had 2 weeks for us / UGA will have 2 weeks for us at the very last game of the year!!!
I realize that having the week off does not guarantee victory - but, late in the year it almost always helps a team with their injuries besides having a longer time to game-plan for the upcoming oppostion.
Obviously, everyone knows that college football is unfair, but I just wanted to add yet another inequity that could be rectified with better scheduling rules for all teams, but I am sure it won't happen - because unbalanced schedules are at the very bottom of the problems with college football.
