Not a tough day at all. I enjoyed the game, especially the second half. There were some signs of encouragement such as Taylor Bennett improving incrementally each week. His pass to DJ was mechanically an abortion---sidearm slinging---but it was pinpoint when it absolutely had to be, moved the chains and maybe won the game. DJ was clutch too.
For all you kool-aid drinkers out there, was there anything---other than the "w"--that encourages you to the point that you'd like to play Boston College again? I saw formation penalties (still), lots of holding, a lackluster first half but I was amazed that we did make good adjustments at the half and came out with emotion. I've said all year we need to stick to our running game. Bennett's two scores were direct results of the move to stay with the run. Sell the run first and then play action is more effective. This isn't news, people. It is football 101. Today it worked. Next week we will see how good or how bad Miami really is. It is impressive to beat them in the Orange Bowl. The Tampa papers said heretofore only VPI, ND, and FSU had beaten the Hurricanes three straight. My research says two of those three-peats are not in three straight years, but three straight games spread over four or five years. I haven't determined if any of the other three-peaters did twice in Miami. It's a feat, there is now doubt. I am eating humble pie tonight, but no second helpings. This coach has got to go. Many jumped off the bandwagon by halftime and jumped back on by the end of the game. Such is the nature of fans. I love all you guys because I know you all love Georgia Tech. We just have varied opinions of what is best for our team. My opinion that a continued presence of Coach Gailey is not in our best interest remains unchanged by a squeaker win over a mediocre opponent.
