Georgia Tech: After opening with three straight wins over mediocre opposition, the Yellow Jackets don't seem to have made much improvement over last year's 3-9 debacle. Johnson's triple-option offense was totally manhandled and increasingly looks like a gimmick that other teams have figured out. Poor recruiting seems to have caught up with the Yellow Jackets when they face elite competition.

Meh. We'll know by season's end.

Clemson looked awfully ööööing good tonight, and played Bama to the wire not too long ago...

A bit of a stretch given the gut punching end to the first half.

We were competitive in this game but it appeared to get ugly quick.

It cannot be overstated that Clemson had a bye (without having one) on Saturday while we played an actual FBS team. Remember Miami Thursday night in 2009?

Yep, and three more of our opponents have a bye before playing us: Miami, Duke and UNC. :/

It's not as bad as it seems. We certainly need to improve to meet our ultimate goal, but this is not another 3-9 team. If you throw in the towel because a top-5 beat you by 19, you need to quit watching football and go back to your safe space.

this. a top 5 bump always dislodges the weakest pussies from the wagon.. let them fall.

This is either a 6-6 or a 7-5 team with the unlikely potential to be a 5-7 team if we lose one of the games to Ga. Southern, Duke or Virginia. I would expect us to win those 3 and then the Pitt game is a toss up. Win that one, we go 7-5. Lose that one, we're 6-6. But we will not beat Virginia Tech, Miami, or Georgia. UNC is the other team that is a potentially winnable game but a team that has big, strong, and fast defensive linemen and an offense that can put up points quickly.

Regardless of whether you like this offense or not, if this team gets behind, this offense is not the type that can overcome large deficits because we do not throw the ball effectively.

The truth hurts and we need to own it. Twenty-two yards of total offense in the first half against anyone is totally unacceptable anytime, anyplace. Clemson is clearly a top tier team, but that only accounts for a portion of our dismal effort.

Good news is that last night will probably been seen as a pivotal moment a couple of years down the road.

Why? Because we made complete fools of ourselves on national TV last night and our new AD was watching from the stands.

I expect that he will have little tolerance for the excuses going forward.
