AP Poll?

Missouri gets added in for beating SE Missouri, FCS
Northwestern doesn't get in for beating a ranked Stanford

Logic.

Ehhh.

NW didn't look top-25 good. Stanford just looked like the slowest, least athletic team I've seen. Seriously. They were big at most positions, but so öööö slow they couldn't complete a pass more than 5 yards down field. Stanford is going to get shredded this year in the Pac12. I wouldn't rank NW based on this one win.

No need getting butthurt over week 2 rankings. Wait 5 weeks and things will start to sort themselves out.

Nobody is butthurt, just discussing and noting how dumb these rankings are.

You can say all you want that Stanford looked bad, but Stanford would beat the hell out of SEMO. If you are ranking based on one win, NorthWestern would be more impressive than Mizzou at this point...to me.

Yeah... the poles are flawed. Big whoop. Wanna fight about it?

th

Should we be ranked for beating the dog piss out of an awful, awful team? The whole system is flawed, but who gives a öööö. Being butthurt over the anti-Northwestern media is no way to go through life.

I know I'm wandering into fantasy land, but Auburn should have actually dropped with that win. They looked about as bad as possible while still winning. I would put them in the 18-20 range.

Not til A&M beats them and vaults into the Top 5.

The funny thing is Stanford was starting to be the trendy dark-horse pick in the P12. And I agree, they looked like Stanford pre-Harbaugh. Really, really bad.

Texas A&M looked unstoppable in their season opener last year, too. Kenny "what's-his-name-now?" was projected as the Heisman front-runner.

These voters just don't learn. They almost had A&M leapfrog us for Pete's sake. Last year, Tech went 2-0 against the SEC while A&M went 3-5...just in case any of y'all forgot.

All deference to SWMBO, the War Teagels looked downright bad on offense for good portions of the game. I don't think there is a team in the SEC west that finishes without at least 1 loss if not 2. And it's not because they're omygoshthegreatestdivisioninfootballever...

Agreed. Unless Alabama doesn't have to actually throw the ball.

You must be new.
  • Any SEC loss to another SEC team is proof the conference is so amazing
  • Any SEC loss to a non-SEC team is because the SEC schedule is so brutal it isn't fair
  • Any non-SEC team that wins games plays "like an SEC team"
  • Pay no attention to the mid-level Big XII teams that dominated the SEC for the first 2 years after joining

A&M has never played in the SEC championship game and has regressed every year in the SEC. That is not "dominating".

And they all play each other so 3 or 4 of those teams will end up with multiple losses and unranked in several weeks.

Maybe, maybe not. Auburn and LSU were 8-4 in the last top 25 polls before the bowl season. These early rankings are too impressionable on final outcomes.

Were you watching last year?

Yes. There was one SEC team in the Playoff and they lost. Some of you sound like the SEC stole your wife and dog. They had a miserable Bowl Season. If it happens again people will start to take notice. Just because they went 2 years without winning the NC doesn't mean they are not a god Conference.

Freudian slip. True nature revealed. BE GONE SEC HOMER!

I don't think an 8-4 team being ranked at the end of the season is very odd. Playoff Committee had five 8-4 teams ranked in their final poll before the Bowls/Playoffs:

2 Pac 12
2 SEC
1 Big 10

So are we going to start complaining about the Pac 12 now too?
