FSU/GT discussion coming up in a few moments. It's 5:19 PM EDT now.

Be a pal and tell me if anything worth hearing is said. I've found that show unwatchable for a long time.

Skip it.

Quick blurb. "Credit to GT or blame FSU?"

In showdown: Adande gave credit to Austin when teammates wee waving arms in celebration, coaches waving to get away from ball, etc. and Austin had presence of mind to play it out. Paige blamed FSU for kicking when it was out of kicker's range (really?), and the only thing that could go wrong did go wrong. Adande got the point.

Agreed. Hardly worth watching, but hey, it made the show.

I agree. Pitt shouldn't have tried the game winning kick from almost the same exact spot the week before either

To be fair, Pitt was trailing, and FSU was tied.

And if we went into OT, I would bet FSU had the advantage.

I hate these types of questions almost as much as I hate the "Did X win it or Y lose it?" The answer to the latter is always, obviously, BOTH. In this case, the answer is also both.

Credit to Austin for the incredibly heads up play to assess the situation before picking it up, and then of course for the great run. Credit also to Milton for being able to get in a key block after the non-creditworthy celebration while the play was still live.

But blame to FSU coaches. Not for kicking it, but for not having their players ready to defend the possibility. You know it's a long kick so he's going to have to kick low...how do you not tell your players to be ready for this? I understand they probably don't practice it, but if all of their players had at least been aware and tried, they probably would have stopped us.

Of course...I guess I just justified the question by typing out a reply to it. Oh well.

I mean, their kicker said if this happened to them, he'd be ready *and* he'd make the tackle, sooo....

To be fair, he was the second closest one to actually making the tackle. It's really pretty shocking how little resistance Austin met with.

I wonder if the fact that most of our guys were celebrating threw the FSU players off enough that they just weren't paying attention until it was too late. Or, more likely, they simply didn't have any speed guys on the field and so nobody who could catch up to a DB already up to full-speed.

Watching it live, I just knew there was going to be some Tallahassee track star to fly onto my screen and catch Austin in the red zone but the only guy that got close was on his butt after what looked more like an involuntary spasm than an evasive maneuver.

I feel like most of the Noles thought the play was over and were turned to head to their sideline. Our players celebrated towards ours. Once everyone not named Golden or Austin realized it was a live ball we had a wall of willing defenders set-up on our side of the field.

The hesitation sucked many of them upfield and then given that vast majority are OL, once wall set, it was OVERz
