Aside from UF/OK, will we be the highest rated bowl?

Aside from the NC, I can't think of any other bowl folks will want to watch than GT v. LSU. Last year's national champ vs the soon-to-be national champ:fingersx:.

Who gives a crap about Ohio State's bowl game, or even worse, Mich State's? I would've loved to watch Bama/Texas and Texas Tech/USC, but with the BCS the way it is, it appears everyone was screwed out of a good matchup.

And the ACC championship would be nice, but wouldn't we rather play LSU than Cincinnati?

Folks are gonna tune in to see if we can go 3-0 against the mighty SEC, and I believe PJ will have our boys ready to dominate.

Um, I give a huge crap about MSU's bowl, I want to see them stomp the mutts.

It's a tough call, but I doubt we'll have the highest number of TV viewers. I think the MNC, Cotton, Sugar, and Fiesta will have more just because they're BCS bowls (Cotton isn't, but has its own day).

I'm also looking forward to:
Cotton Bowl - TT vs Ole Miss
Rose Bowl - SC vs Penn State

I hope Mich State will continue assisting ugay in their downward spiral to hell also, and I plan on watching a ton of bowl games, but I think folks across the nation will want to watch GT v. LSU moreso than most others. It'll be interesting to see how many non-GT and LSU fans watch our game compared to the other games.

Are you kidding? Nobody outside the southeast cares about LSU/GT.

In fact, most people outside the southeast have vaguely ever even heard of GT.

Games I will be watching:

* means I am really looking forward to it

Wake Forest vs. Navy
Boise State vs. TCU
West Virginia vs. North Carolina
*Wisconsin vs. Florida State
*Miami (FL) vs. Cal
NC State vs. Rutgers (maybe)
Missouri vs. Northwestern
*Oklahoma State vs. Oregon (can't wait to see the Oregon uniforms, Nike comes out with different ones each bowl game)
Boston College vs. Vandy
***LSU vs. GT
Clemson vs. Nebraska (the only game I am not rooting for the ACC)
*Penn State vs. USC
Cinci vs. VT
*Utah vs. Alabama
*Buffalo vs. Connecticut (go Buffalo!!)
*Florida vs. OU

It'll be interesting to see. I think a lot of folks will watch it. It is a no-brainer that everyone in the south will watch it. And even if folks haven't heard of GT, they've heard of LSU

Nebraska and thier fans will be watching. They still love the option and will certainly watch the game just to see it run at a high level.

I completely disagree. Alabama - Texas would have been an awesome match up but still I am looking toward to the bowls.

I am mainly curious about how Big 12 will do after all the hype, I think they will collapse. Also, I am looking forward to all ACC games to see if our season record will hold up.

The ignore feature is a beautiful thing folks.

As to the OP question, I think it will be up there. It might not be watched as intently as some of the other games, but its going to be on the TV at a helluva lot of houses around the country, and men will congregate near it with beer and munchies while the women gather in kitchens to bad mouth their relatives and talk about the deal they got on their new years eve dress.

I'm not saying there aren't going to be some good games, I'm just saying that I think people are going to be interested in watching ours moreso than many of the other games. We'll see when the ratings come out after bowl season, but I think the most-watched games, in order, will be:

(1) UF/OK
(2) GT/LSU
(3) USC/PSU
(4) TX/OH ST.
(5) Bama/Utah
(6) Ok St/Oregon
(7) Miss/Tex Tech
(8) UGAy/MICH ST.

Regarding TV audience:

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/stories/2008/01/07/daily42.html?f=et50&ana=e_du

The Atlanta Sports Council said Friday the Chick-fil-A Bowl was the third-highest attended bowl game with 74,413 spectators, it earned the highest television rating of all ESPN bowls this year and the highest in the Bowl's history (5.09, or 4.92 million households), its $1.04 million in charity funding was the highest of any bowl game and its team pay-out hit $5.83 million.

Unfortunately Texas/Ohio State will blow all our bowl out of the water and USC/PSU probably will as well. We'll be close to Bama/Utah and probably better than the rest.

+1. I'm in the PNW... you know what I get sick of hearing?
"Georgia Tech? They're the Bulldogs, right?" :angryfire:

I heard the exact same thing from an old high school teacher of mine when I went home over winter break freshman year.

Ive never heard that in NY, San Diego (even ran into some folks wearing GT hats b/c they thought they "looked cool"), Houston or any of the many places that i have traveled to

they do, however, seem to know what Georgia Tech is, and usually say "great school!"
