Aside from UF/OK, will we be the highest rated bowl?

I think it depends on where you are in country, and how isolated the people are. A good example is the wonderful little area I'm currently holed up in. People around here don't understand that there's something other then Big Ten football. It's not that they haven't heard of GT, it's that they're ignorant of football teams not playing Penn State, and pretty ignorant of the teams they are playing. That said, I know a number of people I work with saw us absolutely whip Miami and commented on how good the team looked.

Never underestimate the power of Thursday night games.

Would you start waiting 30 seconds before you post? This isn't even close to true.

I'm from the west coast. When I mention I'm going to GT back home, I usually get one of three responses:

1) Oh
2) Is that a private school?
3) Bulldogs, right?

man, kyle, these are way too dumb even for you to get away with. noone outside the SE has heard of Georgia Tech???

you are stupider than i thought, and if that is the case, why are you here? arent you from California or France or something?

Do you read at all? I said VAGUELY. They might have heard the name, but couldn't tell you anything about the school.

This is the west coast of France we're talking about, right?

Well, I couldn't tell you anything about oregon state but i know they're a football team in the PAC 10. If anyone doesn't know who GT is then they're retarded.

To use your example -- I bet if you mentioned Oregon State to people here, they would say, you're the Ducks right? Or mention the funny uniforms -- all of which is their rival.

Yeah, the difference is GT has far more athletic history and academic prestige than Oregon State, so it's really surprising to people from the SE that a lot people have hardly heard of the school.

If you're not an engineer and you don't follow college sports, then there's a good chance you haven't heard much about GT if you're on the west coast.

The west coast of France, just to clarify for everyone.

I've always thought that Oregon State should play USCw in a bowl game. ;)

Ah yes, Beavers vs. Cocks!

There was also the famous game between USC and USC, with South Carolina stickers reading: "USC vs. USC: Their Trojans can't hold our Cocks!"

Isnt USCw Southern Cal? I thought USCe was Cocks -- but then the joke does not make sense. I guess I am wrong.
