Thinking that we can control newspaper coverage is akin to thinking that we can choose a DC. It's delusional because we can't; we will fail. It's bad because that failure tends to take the real pleasure away from the joy of being a fan. We've all seen people embittered by what should be a pleasure-pulling for your team (that, really, is what is "wrong" with the posts you mentioned previously: they might depress the poster when his wishes keep not coming true)
Every now and then I re-read the Bobby Dodd quote RR has at the head of the Hive . It is an antidote to taking ourselves too seriously.
Besides, I don't particularly want the AJC to be a homer paper. What's the fun in that?
