I was sent an article from a friend of mine about Taylor Bennett and expectations for Tech this season etc. At the end of the article it had a place for comments and the first one I read was an Auburn fan making fun of our stadium and how week the ACC is etc. Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't it GT who beat them two years in a row, and wait wasn't that with Reggie Ball as our QB. God I hate SEC fans...

It was also them who begged out of the third scheduled meeting between GT and Auburn. I guess that still isn't as bad as paying FSU 250K to get out of a game the first year of Tuberville. Yow that SEC and Auburn is tough. NOT

Well it wasn't two years in a row, but it was twice in a row (nearly the same difference I suppose). Beat them in 2003 and 2005. Loved both games!!!

Quoth Tubberville, "I'm never playing Chan Gailey again. We were solidly outcoached in both games."

We beat them twice with Reggie Ball as our QB. 'Nuff said. What reason would they have to run their mouth about? How could you possibly justify popping off your mouth about GT? When it comes to Tech, Auburn fans just need to shut the hell up and move on.

23 - 14 ..... 17 - 3

Warn Damn Eagle wants no part of the Ramblin' Wreck.

Furthermore, Auburn has not defeated GT on the gridiron in 20 years --so STFU War Eagles!

IMHO, Auburn fans are generally OK. Sure, you have bad fans in just about any program but Auburn fans seem pretty good overall. Anyway, I like 'em and will stick up for most of them.

Now as to the single Auburn fan making fun of the Tech stadium and ACC, he shouldn't throw any stones. His glass house is gonna get real messed up from every angle.

My family are all big Auburn fans. At the August family reunion we always talk about the upcoming season. They all have tremendous respect for Coach Gailey, and think our program is in good hands.

The only person to ever tell me to sit down at a Tech game was an Auburn fan in 2003.

Only time I ever got rude with someone at a Tech game? Three guesses.

Auburn fan or any other fan, he got what he deserved...coming into our house and messing with one of our own. Way to go, Jacket. Kick his butt one time for me.

Still, I like the general attitude of most Auburn fans I have met and stand by my defense of most of them. Heck, I once thought I might even have to take a Tech fan to the shed. There are some bad fans in every stadium.

just for the sake of argument here...

but we have plenty of fans who are constantly talking/posting/complaining about the football program in Athens even though it has been rather infrequent in my lifetime for us to beat them. FWIW, I agree with your logic...it doesn't make sense to talk "smack" unless it is backed up somwewhat.

I think since we are in a direct rivalry with U[sic]GA that's a different story. It's okay and expected for rivals to talk badly about each other...that's what a rivarly is. We all consider it perfectly natural for U[sic]GA fans to talk smack about Florida even though they've been dominated by the Gators to the tune of 13-2.

gth816f, in my mind...

I think that Ga. fans complaining about UF are no better than Tech fans talking smack about Uga...until things get on equal footing or thereabouts (see OSU/Michigan, UF/FSU,UA/AU) it's all sour grapes imho. In other words, it's got to be more competitive before the jawing starts. Otherwise it's Rory Sabattini vs. Tiger Woods to use a golf analogy.

Dude, that was just wrong. :wow:

I totally agree!!!

I've not run into many bad Auburn fans. They're out there, just like any school, but I'm a fan of their program and think they are a pretty classy group as a whole.

I think you just ran into a lone idiot.

The two schools near us with the best fans are Auburn and South Carolina, by far.
