I was taking a gander at scout just now and saw that we may be on Shawn Green's radar and apparently he has a ton of offers...I just can't read the whole article...anyone know about this guy?

Also, there is a link that says Williams and Ayers are close to decisions...and beside the picture of Green is a link that says ***new commit***, and it says something about Jeff Luc after you click the link...anyone fill me in possibly?????

Nice....I haven't heard his name on this board yet...I don't think at least.....that's great news!

Yeah been on the board a little while now. I'd love to land another stud DT.

We could match what we lost this year next year....if that makes sense....Good deal. The talent on offense plus the talent on/possibly on defense...wow! The perfect swarm...lol...OK and little cheesy...

GT will be there in the end for Green.

He is an absolute BEAST.

I am really glad to hear this....He looks like the manbearpig from the Southpark episode......

Not ugly like that thing, but just as beastly...

I wish I knew more about Ayers, especially after what I learned he did today instead from the unspeakable topic.

What did he do today??? What unspeakable topic, and please tell me is has nothing to do with UGAG!

I know Shawn Green I've been tryin to talk him into tech but he's leaning more towards ole miss. But he did say that we are making good offers so hopefully he'll change his mind!!!

I suppose it's something that would take a visit (or another one, not sure if he's been yet) to have a chance at convincing. If we are set at taking a 2nd DT, and we don't find someone else before season starts, I can see this guy being one of the ones that take a season to decide where he's going. Just a gut feeling.

Well...two places to end up could not be more different than Ole Miss and Georgia Tech. The entire state of Mississippi is pretty much behind the rest of the country in everything from academics to business. It is a huge problem there.
Ole Miss is a college town in the middle of a state with very little to offer....while Georgia Tech is a top academic school in the middle of a pro sports town with huge amounts of job opportunity all around it should the NFL not work out.
Plus...Ole Miss chickened out of playing us in 2010 and 2011...so you tell me which program is better! :D

i think ayers, bostic, and mccoy talking to green will be enough peer pressure to convince him to be a jacket. i'm hoping at least.

Ole Miss has really hot women and better tailgaiting.

True but only the former will matter to Green. I don't think I would want one of my players out tailgating before a game, lol.

I think what Green is going to hear the most is the ability to play against the best (same SEC crap you hear). Ole Miss also has a stellar reputation for producing NFL caliber linemen - the Virginia of the SEC if you will. Combine that with a charismatic coach in Nutt, the prettiest girls in the SEC, and passionate fan base and they have quite a draw for a young guy.

What Tech can offer is the academics, the people (ayers, bostic, etc.), location in Atlanta is tough to beat, and the ability to be a part of a class that could shape our program into a National Title contender.

If I were talking to the guy I'd show him around Atlanta...cause theres more fine girls in this city than the whole state of Mississippi has to offer. The appeal of being in Atlanta should be huge. How many D-1 college campuses are that close to the city?
