..heard he may not have made the grades to play in the Gator... anyone else hear this?

Someone posted it on the Hive, saying they saw it on a dawg board. Didn't sound credible to me, but wadda I know?

I did hear that grades came out today, FWIW.

The post is no longer there, unsurprisingly.

As Of Now It Is Rumored ....

to be a senior starter in the defensive backfield who didn't make his grades. Sad way to end up if it costs him the last game of his career. I thought they could play as long as the next semester didn't start? Not at all surprised if he's had NFL on the brain this semester and didn't put forth the effort.

Who was the lineman that used to post on the hive as "Ironman"? Ken Celaj, I think? He couldn't play in the bowl game his senior year ('98?) because of grades.

Thanks for the info, cycle, even if I didn't wanna hear it.

Didn't something similar happen to Joe Burns prior to the bowl game in 2001?

I thought Joe played in the bowl game, and then declared for the draft....

but he would not have been eligible for the next year, IIRC.

That would have been Geetee posting on the Dawg board under the profile name 'Euegeeaay.'

I thought you were gonna' say he's applying for some kinda' hardship case to come back and play another year!!!

:laugher: :eek5:

Sean Gregory played in the Seattle Bowl because Joe did not make grades. Mac McWhorter coached.

Only a few years back, it was very common for guys (at some schools) to quit attending class their senior year and focus only on football. They couldn't come back for the next semester, but the NCAA would let them play in the bowl.

Since then, it's changed. No grades - No bowl.

If he leaves school now it also means he's a zero in our progress rate...no degree, not eligible when he left. So he's not only hurting himself he's hurting the program.

Kenny Scott didn't make grades?

Holy crap.

Yeah, don't think I'll be watching this game.

I wouldn't go freaking out just yet. I've seen no valid sources or reports backing up that claim.
