which begs the question, what will we be happy with? We won the coastal last year and will probably win 8 win games this year and then fire our coach. So, what will make us happy? 9 wins and/or ACC champ next year?

I hope we're more realistic than that. Part of the firing this year was that we had possibly our top to bottom most talented team since the O'leary years and managed to only win 4 conference games and had exactly 1 win against a team with a better than .500 record.

We graduate way too many difference makers (espeically on defense) to contend for the ACC championship next year. Though I still expect a .500 type season.
