Bbacks vs UVa last year

I noticed a couple interesting stats for UVa this year:

In all but one game, they had more total yds of offense than their opponent. The exception: Richmond 422 yds/ UVa 330 yds (Cavs won 45-13). Here is the total yd stats for their 4 losses:

UCLA 358/ UVa 386
BYU 332/ UVa 519
Duke 334/ UVa 465
UNC 374/ UVa 443

Their QB's have combined for 12 TD passes and 11 INT's.

UVa has improved a lot from last year, and they are probably better than their 4/4 record indicates. They have a pretty balanced offense, so they will give our D a big challenge.

the fact that they have an offense will make them a challenge to our defense.

They'll hit us in the backfield more than most teams do, and probably create some risky ball exchanges with their blitzing.

On the other hand, if they totally miss with a blitz, we'll be off to the races. I'm excited about the possibility of getting Snoddy/Zenon/Thomas in space this weekend.

I'm hoping/expecting that JT5 will be able to handle that and take advantage of the VA mis-matches and mistakes.

Woohooo!

Go Jackets!
