BCS Loses All Credibility

It looks like WVU will indeed lose. But, the two holding calls, thrown late and incorrectly, were ridiculous. Big East refs know what is on the line for the conference if WVU plays for the title. The integrity of the game can be legitimately questioned with calls like that.
 
Yea they will lose... and Mizzou is looking pretty bad right now. I am definitely going to be losing sleep over this one. Everyone should keep their fingers crossed that ugag doesn't go to the title game. I'm pretty sure that LSU or VT or USC will jump them, but who knows? with the BCS being as screwed up as it has ever been, ugag does have some type of shot to get there.
 
The one I saw helped WVU --- a WVU guy was holding the jersey of a Pitt receiver --- pulling cloth ... no call.

On a different front: with Mizzou losing might the Dawgs squeeze into the CG ahead of the SEC conference champ? What about VT? I agree, the BCS has a hell of a mess this year.
 
ugag won't get in. if there is a god, (which I'm certain there is) LSU will jump them.
 
They were huge call keeping WVU in the game. First, a nice TD run was called back in late third. Called a WR for a hold at about the 8 yard line. Wasn't thrown until the RB was crossing goal line. Replay showed it to be a very typical block with no holding.

Then, Pitt would have made a first down late that would have likely let them run out the clock or get mighty close to it. A ref right in front of the play saw the same WR blocking and threw no flag. As the RB made the first down a flag came from way down the field calling holding. The replay showed it to bean absolutely bogus call.

And, I was wanting WVU to win! But, that was terrible.

The two prior holding calls against Pitt were much MUCH worse than that call. The refs actually took points off the board with the first phatom call.
 
College Football needs a playoff system. If UGAy gets to the national championship I'll drive to Athens and drop a huge steamy butt biscuit in the middle of the arch.
 
you can make a strong case for VThug. There loses where to then ranked #1 LSU and #2 BC. USC lost to Stanford. LSU lost to Arkansas. UGA lost to SC. Kansas could sneak in also. What a mess.
 
This year, your resume to play for the title should include at least three wins over a #2 ranked team and one win over a #1 ranked team.
 
The TV pundits are suggesting Ohio St and LSU. Makes as much sense as anything else.
 
Jesus! I can't believe I am even thinking this, but there is a very very very little part of me that is considering that UGA should go to the NC game. It must be some defective gene or something. Think of how the s**t would hit the fan! I bet there would be lawsuits, protests.....There would be such an outcry that the only possible fix would be a playoff.
I really believe rational heads will overcome and LSU or VT will move up. Still crazy though... they will have to leapfrog over two other schools with equal or better records that could not even win their own conference division.
 
well it looks like a done deal. OU has mizzou by 18 points. WV lost. I say it's Ohio State vs. LSU/VT/USC

Only way I would want them there is if they got their **** pushed in.
 
I guess it depends on how the human voters go. Kansas and Uga basically have the same strike- they did not win their division. How do either one play for the natl championship?

LSU has 2 losses - but they won their conference. Va Tech wins their conference but lost to LSU badly.

Man this is one big mess.
 
that would be fun - especially if Hawaii would win. Just completely mess up the system
