Does anyone have a clue why the GT SID is so opposed to frequent uploads of stadium renovation pictures on rr.com? I think a weekly posting is not asking too much when all anyone has to do is walk a few steps, snap 3 or 4 pictures and email them to OCS. The entire operation would consume about 15 minutes of one person's day but it seems to be like we are asking for blood. We are helping to pay for that stadium (as season ticket holders and AT contributors), at least have the decency to show us what we are paying for! Frustrated and perturbed,
The Captain

Fwiw my guess is that the AA doesn't want to pay a Tech grad what it would take to keep him in the job, we can make way more outside doing what we went to school for or some semblance thereof.

The treatment that many of us have rec'd from the Athletic Department and the SID has bordered on rude for the better part of a year now...
Many alums and season ticket holders are becoming more and more disgruntled at the lack of respect that most of us feel we deserve ...
The deafening silence at the conclusion of last season, the stonewalling of reasonable information especially in regards to the stadium expansion is inappropriate IMO...
GT is not a high profile program when it comes to season ticket sales and attendance but we are being treated as if tickets are impossible to get and we should be thankful for the teacups of information that we get from the SID...
Unfortunately this superior attitude combined with another poor season by the football team will spell doom for the AD and Chan Gailey... I know of several longtime ticket holders and donators who will not renew their blocks of seasons tickets if next season resembles last season...
For the life of me I can't figure out why the AD doesn't realize that a little polite interaction with the core fan base would go along way...
I really feel that GT fans are some of the best... we understand how difficult it is to recruit successfully year in and out and we allow alot of latitude when it comes to wins and losses... with this in mind we do want respect... we get so little outside of our own stadium that to not recieve any from our own AD or SID is beyond disgraceful it is grounds IMO for a complete change in leadership within the Athletic Department... I'm not an anarchist by any means but a continuation of last seasons policies regarding communications , or the lack thereof, will force many in the alumni to seek change...

Do you know how few Tech grads work in the Athletic Association?
I think we could count on one hand?
My A-T rep went to UVA. The marketing underlings are from varous places such as WVU, auburn, etc.
Each department may be headed by a Tech grad, but the underlings aren't.
That explains the lack of passion.

I can't imagine Tech not wanting to do all they can for their fans, but they do have a history of this. I have never been able to understand this. We are the lifeblood of the program outside of the players themselves.

Our support and attendance is the foundation of keeping a team on the field. Yet time and again over the years they act like this. I have never been able to understand it - we are such diehard supporters through thick and thin, appreciation of the masses is thin.

I really wish the would do MORE to attach themselves to us!

You've got to remember that AA-type employees are more loyal to their network than to their employer. As often as coaches and administrators move from college to college its easy to see that they scratch backs across school lines more than vice versa. Bet there are more UGAg graduates working for the AA than Tech graduates. I know one who interviewed for a job there just last week.

Clough will have to intercede to make our AA more accountable. Hell, we can't even renew season tickets online or select seats via seating charts and photos on the internet. We have to physically travel there at a time and date dictated to us. How about that for World Class customer service.

I've never had a problem dealing with the AA.

Of course, I remember they are a business with
normal constraints and generally don't have very
unreasonable expectations.

I loved parking and tailgating last season and
had no problems getting my reseat info this year.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">CJ, I totally respect you as a GREAT Tech fan.
But I had to call 4 different people to renew my season tickets. I didn't get my gift as a new season ticket holder, and no one called to ask why I didn't pick it up.

However, at times where I have taken the iniative and "demanded respect" from the GTAA, I have gotten it. The A-T rep I dealt with was more than great, but my iniative made the difference. I never received phone calls or emails after graduation asking me to join the A-T fund. I had to make the choice to do it.

I wasn't made aware that GT volleyball was here in freakin' gainesville kicking florida's ass last month. I didn't even know they competed during the spring.

When I make the effort, GTAA is a first class organization, but they are absolutely horrid at pulling me in and getting me excited about GT.

Luckily I love my school and degree...

Didn't some folks swing by the stadium and post pictures for us last year?

It wasn't from the AA sure, but the pictures were GREAT and GREATLY appreciated by those of us out of town!

Consider this week's update taken care of. Here are some pics I took after Sunday's Beesball game. Things are really coming together...

Did I miss something? I thought the Upper North was supposed to be straight across. It looks like there are going to be two sections up there.

Hey, here are the facts:

Visit most any other school's boards, etc.
and you feel like you are getting "jacked-up"
for their school, their athletic program and everything else that has to do with thier school.

Tech is waaaaaaaaay behind, or out of circulation or without care....who knows????? But Tech officialdome is lacking in a sad, sad manner in so many areas...go to smaller schools/programs and their sites (in comparison) if you really want to get sick!!!!

JJ, Thank you kind sir. Really cool stuff. Haven't been down there since spring FB practice. Things are really coming along.

Those pictures are telling to me in regards to the amount of work accomplished in the "concourse area's" in the North Stands.

When someone walks under those stands they get a great feel for how deep they are. There is a player's lounge, locker rooms, coach's offices, walk area for fans, bathrooms, concessions, and other things going on there. That's a pretty cool stair system being put in place as well that will help getting fans in and out of the stadium.

Can get a feel from your pictures on how that's going from last time I was there.

&lt;Bows to JJ&gt;

GO JACKETS!
