Be IN THE STANDS by 5:45. Kickoff at 6:01!

Only problem I have with this is that doesn't the band come marching down at 15 minutes until gametime, or so? If you want to hear the band and sing with them, then you will be late, right? Perhaps the band can march down sooner, so we can all make it to our seats by the 5:45.

I may have my times wrong, but I try to hear and sing with the band each game, and I usually am just making it to my seats by kickoff when I do so.

Just do what CPJ says to do.

I say with great caution that if the good Doctor is confident that he can enjoy his time with the band and be seated in time for kickoff, I don't think he should be considered a bad fan, bad guy, or feminine hygiene product. I think the purpose of Wes and PJ talking about this on the call-in-show was to emphasize how they don't want anyone to be late. Planning on getting there a little early would be a great way to make sure you were not late, but I think if your butt is in the seat anytime before kickoff, you're okay. And to be clear, PJ did not issue a command for people to be there at 5:45. They just want people there before kickoff.

Just my feeling about it; try not to get too mad at me.

Just kidding with you

Where's the source? Not that I'm going to be late anyway.
These guys are fighting for us with all they have got, we need to be there to pump them up. Here is from an article by Tech linebacker Kyle Jackson:

I then head back in and get dressed for warm-ups, but most guys will stay out and toss the ball around or stretch. The team then goes through warm-ups and heads back in to the locker room.

At this point, game time is 20 minutes away. You can hear the fans, the students directly above us, stomping the bleachers as the locker room is otherwise completely silent in focus. With five minutes left, the captains are called up. It's time to hear Coach Johnson and team chaplain Derrick Moore speak.

Before you know it, it's time. Tonight is finally here. Pupils dilated in anxiety, we approach the tunnel. The fog billows and you can see the "Whiteout" crowd. The fight song cranks, and here come the Yellow Jackets, ready for what surely will be a battle.

Also - the reason he mentioned it is that usually the tv guarantees a 10 minute late start (ie, game time 730, but kickoff is never until 740ish). They said that espn2 told them directly that kickoff is at 6:01 - there will not be the normal delay. Paratroopers supposed to land somewhere around 5:45 or so - I suggest the 5:30 arrival time...

About 46 hours to go. I cannot WAIT for this one! Should be a special night.

Damn. We have never lost when I have sung with the band on the steps. Call it my superstition -- but when I have sung there, we have never lost. So what should I do? Follow a stupid superstition of mine, or listen to CPJ??

Please honor your tradition of seeing the band and get your butt in the seats by kickoff. See my post in this thread above.

People getting there late pisses me the F off. That fraternity near the band is always late, I guess they are too busy primping their Damarius style hair.

Bumping my own thread, sigh...

I agree with the other thread - be there at 5:30. But CPJ and Wes DID say that it would be nice to have everyone there at 5:45.

The earlier the better, IMO!

I'll be in my seat tonight! ...at the North Forsyth vs Norcross game that is.

I'm normally in my seats 20-25 minutes prior to kickoff
