but he is fer sure wrong about O'Brian. Same ol' extremely predictable, extremely unimaginative play calling as last year. No misdirection, no option, just plain vanilla.

No pressure on the QB. No hurries, no sacks.

Thing is, Clempson is not a very good team. A good team would have blown us out. A good team would have beat Georgia.

Anytime you get 4 turnovers you should win. We are a poor TEAM. There's plenty of blame to spread around here. We probably won't be bowl eligible this year. or next.

What was good about the game? Hollings and Rhino, I guess.

Lets hope Beewares NOT right. One thing should be certain, though. This is where the rubber meets the road as far as the HC is concerned. Its going to be up to him to rally this team. If he takes the 50 yd line approach to that and does not do something personally to rally the team we could possibly be in trouble. Delegating to the assistants is fine but this is one instance where CG starts earning his keep.

Mr gnats, sir, are absolutely dead on. NOW is where he shows us his is indeed the coach we all hoped for.

But why are we a bad TEAM? Are we not a veteran team? Thought we had a group of talented players. Very disappointed. I guess new coach, new qb, no O line, and no D-line pressure adds up to whuppin'.

We Closed practice for this!!! We did not run an option all day long. Bilbo/Slash wasn't in the game all day. AJ Suggs looked like Lee Williamson out there taking 15 yards sacks. Remember the Miami Herald ran a poll and most fans were more exited about Norv Turner than Ricky Williams

LOL!! Yeah, sure am glad CU was not able to spy on our practices. We really pulled one out of the hat today. UGHHHHH!!!

Very sensible posts. I think Gailey needs to get more involved with the offense.

It looked like a Bill Lewis coached team today. Braine should have hired McWhorter. Looks like a long season but hopefully a short "Gailey era"..he needs to go!

Along with the above line of thinking, South Carolina, Michigan, and Colorado should ALL FIRE their respective coaches as well! After all, their teams laid eggs today as well!

It was a tough loss. It was on the road, in less than desirable conditions, first time facing legitimate competition and certain players had bad games that we're not used to seeing.

However, all today did was more than likely take us out of the title game. We have a Top 25 team coming here to BDS on Saturday.

We also have three other games against Top 25 teams on the schedule (four if you include Maryland's preseason ranking)

There are many more exciting games to take place. While it appears many who wear rose-colored glasses are ready to place blame and throw in the towel, I feel we owe it to a NEW coach and his staff the opportunity to heal the wounds and produce an inspired product Saturday vs BYU.

I, for one, will be there supporting our team as much as ever!

Go Jackets! A great season can still be had!

Thanks for the wise thoughts 2Big.

The L hurts, but I haven't thrown in the towel by any means. There is a lot to play for this year. Anything can happen in the conference still.

I'm looking forward to the BYU game!

Gooo JACKETS!

this loss is very painful. i for one hope the players take ALOT of lessons from this one. also i hope some of the COACHES TAKE A LESSON FROM THIS. my personal beef was that we had a very wet track today so i would believe that running the ball and playing good d is where a good win comes in. PLUS and this might be more disturbing to me. was i dreaming or did we have a whole HEAP of penalties. i am sure that we had more penalties than did the tiggers(plus did that right defensive end look offside to anyone else besides me on GT's last offensive play)

this team is very talented in my opinion(and yes we know what opinions are like) they just need to jell and take care of their jobs plus some of the younger players need to step up and make progress.
(by younger players not meaning those who play already but some who haven't yet broken through to get some playing time)

here is hoping for a great game next saturday.

I will have to start plotting now how to be off in case the BYU game is going to be televised.

JUST TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS I AM STILL A TECH FAN NO MATTER WHAT.

we have some issues but by and large they can be corrected and i believe they will be and this will be a very good team soon.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Actually, what it looked like was an O'Leary coached team, from last year....You remember, I'm sure, the the team that showed up against Maryland, Clemson, and UVA last year???

And why this crazy love for a washed up, career offensive line coach? Yea, his head coaching resume was great....One year at West Georgia, plus that great experience at Villa Rica High.

If McWhorter was so great, he'd be a head coach, or at least on offensive co-ordinator, somewhere. Get over it.

you get "over it"...Mac coached the best game our team played last year...vs Stanford..he's now at Texas...3rdin USA...not too shabby. Gailey did NOT perform his duties last week! INMHO we may have well made a mistake in hiring him!

McWhorter's a loser offensive line coach who can't keep a job. Texas would be third in the country with or without him.

One thing's for sure, he definitely wasn't the right person for the job.

Why don't you back up those statements with some facts....where has he been "fired' for not contributing...why is he a "loser"? He sure as hell was a winner in Seattle beating a team ranked in the top ten....the highest ranked team to lose to an ACC team in a bowl game.

Let's say that Tech fumbles on that last TD in the Seatle Bowl...and they return it for a TD. Tech goes on to lose. That wouldn't have been Mac's fault, but would those who sing his praises STILL be singing them if we lose? Mac did not have a background to suggest he could be a head coach. One win doesn't qualify him for one. Finally, there is one more issue that must be addressed: HE IS NOT OUR COACH ANYMORE...GAILEY IS!

All I read for the past 2 weeks was how great Tech looked and how Gailey was doing a great job. He loses one game and BOOM! chicken littles everywhere are coming out of the woodwork exclaiming that Tech is destined for ruin.

I know that for some of you, the opinions will never change. Beeware will never like Gailey. If Tech fails, it's Gailey's fault. If Tech succeeds, it's because of anyone BUT Gailey. For the rest of you...here's my advice:

Wait until at least the first half of the season is over to pass judgement on how we are doing. Remember, this staff hasn't even been together for a full year yet. I can't see us as going anywhere but up now, as we are still improving.

Also, don't post out of anger or frustration. I know I'm guilty of this, but look how it's making Tech fans appear. With the internet, one loud voice can he heard much more than 100 calm quiet ones. Those that panic only hurt us. People on other boards read this stuff...just like we read theirs. You have no idea how much it stung to see the UConn board talking about Beeware and using HIM as the typical Tech fan's perspective, when in reality it's the minority.

Show support for our team and coaches. If at the end of this season these type of games keep up, then we may have reason to do some questioning. In the meantime, just accept it and move forward. Remember, Richt screwed up a TON of calls last year, and UGA is in pretty good position now(overrated, but still good position). Just give it a chance.
