The top four big 12 teams: Oklahoma State, Texas, TTU, and OU averaged 44.51 PPG during the regular season. In the bowl games they averaged 25.75 PPG, almost 20 points less.

The top four SEC teams: Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Ole Miss averaged 34.33 PPG during the regular season. In the bowl games they averaged 28.00 PPG, only 6 points less.
