Exactly. The ACC has never been new friend of Georgia Tech. They have screwed us in scheduling over and over and the officiating football and basketball, particularly against any of the Carolina Boys has been anything but fair. GT needs “ABA.” Anywhere But the ACC.

The ACC is trapped. There is no mechanism in our contract to force renegotiation. Swofford and every single person associated and agreeing to the ACC contract failed, miserably.

At the very least, there should have been a clause in the contract saying the ACC $$$ should be inside of 90% the value of the largest CFB football contract, automatically recalculated when any conference gets a new contract.

But nope, Swofford is one dumb SOB

The ACC will be distributing about $50 million per school in Fiscal Year 2025. Of course that includes no additional football playoff money. (Thanks to the ACC Network at full distro, and former Commish Swofford who got the channel done over the PAC12 & Big12)

The ACC also only plays 8 conference games right now. An increase to 9 games increases in about 3 years would generate about a 12-15% increase. Combine that with the more football playoff money and the ACC is around $60-62M by 2026. Seems about right. Not sure about you, but the ACC being #3 in $$ is a huge leap from being 5th in 2014.
