Big brain move by Collins…

Love the aggressive play calling. Been a huge difference maker for this team. More overwhelming evidence that Collins was a complete cancer in every part of this team.
would like to have seen us go for it on that 4th & short, just shy of FG range. Or even try the FG. Our D was owning them. But Key and staff have made a huge turnaround. Happy our players have good leadership.

If we keep Key, do you want the same staff?

It’s a crazy question to ask. 2 weeks ago, we all would’ve taken Thacker’s head on a platter.

We are currently one assistant short. If we win enough to keep Coach Key, some assistants may leave for other opportunities.

Announcers calling the play presnap the last few years wasn’t on Collins. Pats post Tech job woes weren’t on Collins either.

What changed between Temple and Tech? Collins was the head man at both, but Temple wasn’t the complete ööööshow that we were under Collins.

I never thought Patenaude was the problem and defended him pretty regularly. I’m not super happy with the playcalls on our last 2 posessions of regulation today, though.
I like our plays better now. More pro style. Some shotgun. Some under center. Some short over the middle plays we seemed hesitant to run before.

I recall a press conference with Patenaude where he made a subtle comment about CGC telling him to add some two-back plays, so he did what the “head coach wanted him to do”. It struck me at the time as a possible sign of some conflict between them, just the wording of it. It’s possible that Patenaude was ready to move on after last year, rather than go down with the ship. That’s not to say that he would have been successful if he was left alone, but just evidence that Collins perhaps didn’t have the rosy relationships with coordinators that he projected.

CDP needed to be told to add some 2 back plays when he had 2 ööööing future NFL RBs on his roster? That’s has to be close to the bottom of things Collins should be blamed for.

My post was not about the question of two backs, rather just an observation about how it relates to the 2 coachs’ relationship, so your comment, with respect to my post, is irrelevant.

If their relationship was poor because CDP was doing stupid things like taking a pro talent level running back off the field to insert a backup level TE, then that is good. Their relationship should be poor.
