Last Saturday was certainly embarrassing which makes the Miami game very important for CBK. If the wheels absolutely fall off this Saturday and it appears the team has mailed it in then CBK may be in the same situation as Coach Clown. But on the flip side if the team bounces back and shows some grit, then maybe we can take the Bowling Green debacle as a fluke and CBK has the program headed in the right direction. We’ll see ….

And where exactly would the $$$ come from to change HC’s again? Folks, the budget wasn‘t there last time. Where exactly would the $$$ come from say after the 2024 season? CBK will be the GT HC for at minimum 4 years out of the 5 year contract. His $3 million per says it all.

Bowling Green was a big game, but it seems like the coaches and players didn't recognize it. We could've started a season 3-2 for the first time since 2017, had a win streak, and looked like a program on the rise. Now we're just losers. Beating Miami would get us back on the right path but it's probably not happening.

A fluke would be a 90 yd PR TD in the last 5 minutes to beat us rather than being dominated on both sides of the ball for 3 1/2 qtrs.

Yep, he's going nowhere.

Herein lie’s the future of the Tech program. I remember a time when Tech had an alumni and fanbase who cared deeply about the football program. But maybe the alumni base of the last 30 years does not have that passion. If so … well I don’t want to think about it.

Buying out a $3M/yr contract is easily done.

To me, there is a HUGE difference between CBK and TFG.

After this BG disaster CBK basically said WTTE "We stunk it up. We weren't prepared and our heads were not in the game. That's on the coaches and ultimately on me as HFC. We are better than this and I'm going make sure that we get things corrected."

TFG would said, "We had guys playing at an elite level. Guys battling, working hard and getting better." He'd have been blowing so much smoke, that you wouldn't have been able to see across the room!

I ain't happy about the BG game. That was one of the most miserable experiences I have ever had at BDS@HGF! But, at least we have a HFC that owned the loss, who cares cares about GT Football, and is doing everything he reasonably can to correct the situation!

Rant off.

The answer is no, 90% of the alumni base of the last 30 years does not care anything about sports. What's disappointing is that in the last 30 years metro Atlanta has basically doubled in size, added what 3 million people and GT has catered to almost none of them. And I don't think a lot of the transplants are cheering for the pups either. I think most of them like us look down on georgie and would love to have a local team to cheer for. I think the aloofness of most Tech people is a turnoff, but there aren't enough Tech people here to be turning anyone off. Even look at the success of CPJ's era, Tech was still selling about 35,000 tickets when it wasn't a big game. That's simply pathetic and indicative of more than just winning or losing.

Admin needs to find a way to cater to joe fan and it's not a free hot dog and coke or a rap concert. Host week day field trips for elementary schools, host a marching band competition in the fall on a bye weekend, run a flag football program in BDS during the spring, cater to the STEM culture. And have GT current and former athletes there to give these kids someone to connect to and root for. I just think there is so much more GT can do but they don't want to do. Expanding the academics to widen the student base is a great idea but will never happen with the current BOR. So Tech needs to find a way to be appealing beyond sports in order to create fans who will be interested in coming once the winning starts.

Yeah C****** would say, "It's on me, we'll get it fixed" and then do the exact same thing the next week with no changes. Moving Sherrer up and Thacker down is at least something, and hopefully it gets the defense woken up. I know they like Thacker, and they hopefully don't want to see him gone.

The same alumni and fan base who stood by when we almost canceled football 40 years ago?
