Biggest 1 Year Turnarounds

I think worst to first, for us, is a pipe dream. We simply don't have the coaching, talent, resources and schedule that would provide such a season. We have to have one of the top 5 hardest schedules. He just lost our best talents, in the portal. We have a QB that hasn't put 2 and 2 together yet. We have a terrible, and I using terrible loosely, defense. Just way too many headwinds, to remote thing we could end of first. I really think our goal should just not be last, this year. Our goal should be to get past the 3 win hurdle. Sadly, I think anything more than 3 wins will mean Collins hangs around. Just because of the Collins lovers and the fact GT sunk all their money into this loser.
I’m pretty confident anything less than a bowl game Collins will be gone. It’s year 4. Yes, our out of conference schedule is tough. But we play in the weakest conference in all of P5 college football. 7 wins a year is not too much to ask.

I wished a shared that confidence. First, GT has a lot of money tied up with Collins. Second, Collins has fooled all the right people, any improvement, will be treated as a victory. Regardless of the W-L record, at the end of the season. Last, there are plenty of Collins lovers, out there. They will definitely use the strength of schedule, as a crutch. I think we win 4-5 games. Collins will tell everyone how much "improved" we are, and people will believe it. The right people, in Collins' book, any way. I think next season will be the bowl or bust season, for him. I could be wrong. Maybe it's me being salty, but it is how I see it.

only example I can think of that would relate to this is michigan, but they have some amazing coachingand talent.

Another couple GT-related footnotes from that article…

The 1979 0-10-1 Florida Gators tie, their only non-loss, that year was their home opener against Georgia Tech.

I remember that game, because their star LB, Scot Brantley, was kneed in the head by one of our players. He was unconscious forever and laid on the field motionless even longer before the ambulance carted him off the field. He was diagnosed with a concussion (his 4th in college) and brain bruise, and told he wouldn’t play football again. He was drafted in 1980 by Tampa Bay and played eight years. He was diagnosed with dementia about ten years ago and Alzheimer’s about 5 years ago.
