Bill Curry to coach GA St.

Interesting choice. I would have thought they would have picked and older established coach like Curry, but would have went with someone who had been coaching in the last 10 years.

He'll be leaving them for that monster over at Alabama A&M in no time, am I right guys?!?!?!?!?!

Just heard of this. Very interesting. I don't think State could've done any better. I wonder how soon we wind up playing them? Scrimmage? They'll have their own band? Talk about a can of worms. I like it!

Good for Georgia State and good for Coach Curry!

Could be, but I dunno. But I'll still stand by my post as stated:
Good for GA ST and good for Bill Curry, as I'm glad for both. I do hope their program will be a great success for using BC. Wonderful man, great coach with tons of character.

It's good for both of 'em. Bill will enjoy coaching again and will establish legitimacy for the program. I'm glad for him and GSU.

Hard to figure how this affects us. Realistically, we should not be losing any recruits we want to Ga State in the foreseeable future. But, this could be a sleeping giant of a program if handled correctly. Plenty of good recruits in state, academic options with little downside, games in the Ga Dome. I would think this would affect Ga Southern the most, initially.

On the other hand, we could start playing them for the city championship last game of the year.

I hope we don't move our home games to Thursdays when they are in the dome on Saturday.

I had a discussion with demjackets on whether this would affect GSU. He seemed to think that it would, but I don't think it will...at least for a while. If they start winning there might be an issue.

But if I am a S-A looking at FCS schools, I am going to go with the team billed as the best in I-AA/FCS history rather than the new guy.

Atlanta vs Statesboro.

Most football players are black. Atlanta is 65% black. Statesboro is like 5% black.

You are quite correct on that. But have you ever been to Statesboro? If so, why the hell didn't we get together? I thought we were friends?
