Suffered ACL tear in second career practice. Hope for a full recovery

Damn. Was really looking forward to seeing him in action.

Feel really bad for him. Here's hoping he wreaks havoc on the ACC as a RS-FR next year.

Fortunately for the team, receiver is a position they've recruited really well at, and that's not even factoring in Gibbs, who's arguably the best receiving threat on the roster.

Preseason injuries happen to every team, every season, but it seems we have more than our fair share of preseason injuries every year.

I’m not a professional CFB coach. But it seems like the GT athletic staff would do well to practice the golden rule of medicine that is taught to physicians beginning year 1 of medical school—-Try your best to improve the patient’s health—- and the players health and skills.
But above ALL ELSE, DO NO HARM. There’s a fine line between challenging them and risking unnecessary injuries.
Again—- I am not a professional football coach, just a fan.

Is there any indication the injury occurred in some unusual practice setting? The only way to avoid risk of injury is to basically not practice at all.

Yeah and you risk not improving the team as a whole in strength training and practice. The sum of the whole certainly outweighs the influence of one player.

Just making a catch that was like any other normal football catch.

You only notice it more because you follow GT. Any other school and you wouldn’t know that a freshman receiver was injured.

UGA just had a starting OLineman go down.

He was in helmet and shorts. No contact. It happens.

I was excited about Leo and he brings some stuff to the table that we really don't have elsewhere in the WR room, but still... he was a freshman and we shouldn't assume he'd be a huge game changer, either. We'll be ok.

This is the play it happened on. He just landed wrong.

"Injuries are a part of football..." a phrase so trite it shocks me when it has to be said, but it always does. We have injuries every year. So does everyone else. It hurt us more in the recent past cuz we have had no depth to absorb it. Now we are getting some but we are still young.

Still looking forward to this fine young player having a great career here.

Yup. Just a player trying to make a play. Could instantly tell it wasn't going to be good based on how he was holding himself and how much time CGC stayed on the sideline with him. Really sucks for him and the team - you can tell he is going to be a mismatch against any secondary.
