Blackwatch coming back?

Wonder how the NCAA would feel about helmet stickers depicting a Scottish whistle or a red hackle, as mentioned in the article?

That distinction should be earned by performance on the field, not by pre-season marketing hype.

Top 15 recruiting is just hype at this point, why ya gonna draw the line at defense?

Wearing those black alts for a primetime natl broadcast home game where we kick somebody's ass would make for a flood of salty dwag fan tears.

Edit: Those old enough here, how were the black tops received by the dwags back then? Whiney bitches about it?
This was before the Dwags even knew you could wear black. Or get beat by Alabama again.

United Kingdom, right?
The English made an empire off sending Scots and Irish to fight their foreign wars for them -- simultaneously ridding themselves of likely rebels in their own back yard in the process.

I was a young kid back then but remember the defense and name. I just always wondered the origin of it. Given that “Lindsey” has a Gaelic-ish/Scottish origin, perhaps that’s how he came up with the name.

The entire coaching staff, or close to it, and their families took a group vacation to Scotland that late spring or summer of 1985.

During part of the trip curry and/or Lindsey saw or heard about the Black Watch military unit.

That gave them an idea for this special achievement award to certain players.
