I saw a post on another board that GT is going to come out in the 1990 throw back blue jersey for the ACCCG? anyone else hear this?
 
Gosh I hope its true, I have such fond memories of us wearing the blue jerseys!!! Go Jackets!!

If so, I guess this means the white helmet auction was a success. I would bid on the #10 jersey and wear it everyday...until my wife made me take it off.
 
Unless the GTAA is in the mood to give a sizeable chunk of change back to a certain donor, don't expect to see us in any jersey in any sport that has blue as the primary color.

I have "heard" this is not out of the question, but I didn't hear it myself.

The donor to whom you refer is a joke and doesn't have an iota of the power he thinks he has. The team will wear what it wants to wear; don't let that bitter old man convince you otherwise.
 
OK, let's add some fuel to the fire....
The navy blue jerseys were purchased for the Noter Dam game, but said supporter wanted to promote the classic GT white and gold for a game with high national interest and TV coverage. I think that was a good idea.

However, he doesn't object to the already purchased blue jerseys being worn against a sad dook team with no TV. I think this is a good idea, too.

I'm just speculating, but it seems reasonable.

Reasonable maybe for him, but what a joke this would be.

He either needs to let go of this ego trip or become a big fan of the Ga. State athletics program, and leave us alone.
 
GT colors are WHITE AND GOLD not blue and white or blue and gold.
What wrong with white tops and gold pants all the time?
Once in a while blue works but why all the BS to wear blue jerseys?
 
First, let me be clear. I hate the thought of blue jersies. And I think debates about it are useless. I like gold and white. I say this so maybe it might convince you I'm not a part of the infamous blue jersey conspiracy:

No donor has even that sort of power at GT. I'm pretty sure we wear gold and white, because those are our school colors, and have been for sometime, but most critically as a marketing decision (the veracity of which has been debated here, and by those with nothing better to do). Any donor who parades as having the power to pick out the team colors needs to be regarded as suspect. Though I do think it is fun to encourage such message board rumors. We are not talking about Auburn. We are talking about GT. Or maybe there is a secret cabal controlling everything....and they give sooo much money that we lag behind other schools in donations.

Oh I'm not convinced one way or the other. I'm not privy or have seen with my own eyes the "clause". I guess it will be kind of telling how much is bravado and how much is BS if they do in fact wear the blue ones for the ACCCG. ;)
 
I prefer the tradition of the white and gold at home, which means you pretty much wear this combination every game unless you're playing at LSU.

Although I wouldn't be against the white and gold, with gold helmets on the road and the unis worn for the UVA game as the permanent home combo, complete with white helmets.
 
Whatever the kids want to wear, if its a GT jersey good for them, they deserve to at least pick what predominate color they want to wear to represent our beloved institute.
 
Since the school color are WHITE and OLD GOLD, our current jerseys are technically not correct anyways (vegas gold). I wouldnt mind seeing the blue ones come out but it really doesnt matter, just win baby.
 
Dodd had the team wearing blue on more than one occasion. It should be the team's choice.
 
I think it could pump the guys up to wear the jersey of a former national champ. It seemed to pump Clemson up when they wore the ugly purple deal agianst us. I hope the rumor is true.
 
Don't personally like blue because mainly, I just don't like blue - and I don't care what we were wearing in 1990, this isn't 1990. Maybe we can wear it once to make you Blue and White folks happy, then put them away.

I did like the Gold jerseys on throwback Thursday.

However, did anyone notice that North Carolina's helmets didn't match their jerseys? It ain't just us folks. I just figured that would be the next thing to come up in this "Up with the Blue and White" movement.
