Don't we also have an outside shot with another loss due to the high APR or whatever it is?
I like your optimism. Here's hoping.
No.
Only shot would be if there weren't enough 6 win teams to fill up the bowl slots.
You have to be in the top 5 of APR to qualify with 5 wins. We are not.Don't we also have an outside shot with another loss due to the high APR or whatever it is?
honestly? It may better to stay at home and use that as motivation for next year than get punished with a trip to shreveport. There's a chance we could still go bowling, but i'm not gonna cry about it if we don't.
And unfortunatly, this year, that wont happen. LOTS of good 6+ win teams
rewarded with a trip to Shreveport

I'm really, really excited that this conversation is going to be taking place again. Complete with people making clever jabs at the value of players getting to visit some southwestern hellhole and receive a bag of candy getting off the planet and downplaying the value of additional practice, another game of experience and so on.
Did we even need to accept the Orange Bowl invitation last year? We already had 10 wins including one over Georgia and a bowl game just put us at risk for devaluing the season. Not worth the risk just to get more practice, experience, exposure and stress balls that looked like an orange for the players imo imo imho
Shreveport or Bust!

I thought it was considered punishment.

It is - I just wasn't tongue in cheek enough I guess.
I can't really tell if you are for or against going to Shreveport in this reply.
Put yourselves in the player's perspective. Everyone else goes home around December 10th, but you get 15 more practices and the excitement of Shreveport on Christmas. They do have some smoke filled casinos and a nice cathedral.
There will be no fan support, but your folks can drive 10-15 hours to watch you play against some other break even team.
21 more days of work without pay.
Pay them a $1000 per day OT and maybe it is fair from their perspective.
