I just saw the most worthless post I've ever seen. I ventured over to Buzzoff to get my daily laugh and saw this thread push pinned to the top of the board.

The consensus was boycott Tech, don't give them a dime. Which to me is pretty funny coming from a bunch of fags who don't go to the games, don't hold season tickets, don't give money to Alexander Tharpe fund, etc. etc.

What are they going to boycott with? Their emotions? Hell, they'd be doing us all a favor then.
 
Well according to beebad buzzoff has now been CERTIFIED as CREDIBLE, and bunger has called all former SA's at GT a bunch of sorry ass's for not dumping on DB and CCG for the good of the program.
bb claims that the reason they are now credible is the increase in the number of posters which gives them clout at least so bb say's.He also threatened mover2 with bannishment, if it were not against the rules I'd cut and paste the whole thing.

BOR your statement is not correct! One poster said boycott Tech, I, in my response said no more $$ but support the SA's. Now if one person is the board then that's correct. I don't think GTornado is the entire board the same as I don't think RM2 is your whole board!
 
Since all A-T donations go to scholarships for SA's, how do you propose to carry out your plan?
 
do like I've done for last few years donate to the academic side of the house! Now are you going to respond to BOR's untrue remarks?

There are a zillion views on CG, but the MAIN problem is with Clough, then Braine. Clough is the one who needs to feel the $ pinch, not our S/As. And you can read that as A-T, season tickets or whatever.

I will never give to Roll Call as long as Clough is there and my family is debating about pulling out of a non athletic pledge.

CLOUGH IS THE DAMN PROBLEM HERE! Then DB, then CG.

My God, DB just spit in the face of our S/As yesterday!!
 
Has anyone looked into an escrow account ? I may be willing to give there but it cannot be used until the extension is finished
 
You are exactly right. When we had that fundraising in late 90's our goal was to raise $375MM. We raised $750MM. There is no coincedence that part of the reason we raised so much more than our goal was the football program. We won the Gator Bowl over Notre Dame to finish 10-2 that year and low and behold, everyone felt great about the program-therefore,more dollars come rolling in. Its true. You have a great Football program, applications go up and money comes in. Clough just doesnt really get the connection. Im not saying he needs to lower academic standards. But you cant have MIT with a Div 1-A football program. Just because a kid doesnt have a 2.55 doesnt mean he wont work hard, graduate, and be a success in life. They need to be more open-minded. That doesnt mean lower standards- just be more open to individual cases. That would help Gailey I believe. Unfortunately, he doesnt understand how athletics and academics can feed off each other-and should at GA Tech if we want to be a real Div 1-A program for the long term.

ever stop to think that Clough has a plan? His plan is to diminish the athletic side of GT and make it more in line with the Rutgers, Vandy's, and Duke's of the world. Sure he graduated from Tech... so what?

Unfortunately his plan is a bit short-sided... when the money stops flowing he'll too late realize his mistake.

That's what you get when an intellectual who thinks sports are a waste is running the show.

He's probably a closet mutt fan anyway...

You are w/h $ from Roll Call (and potentially other non-athletic fundings) because of Clough.....and your problem with Clough is what ?

That's stupid. If Clough is set on diminishing athletics, why are we spending so much money on it? He definitely has a different way about it but I don't believe he's trying to scale athletics back.
 
So you are going to donate to the academic side of the house instead of AT? Then how are you supporting the student athletes, as you propose?

I finally agree with you.

Clough is the problem. Braine has a fat paycheck that he is not going to jeopardize by taking on Clough (and they are buddies besides). Gailey is too nice and too busy to take on the Hill as O'Leary did.

If we had O'Leary (or a similar personality who also understands GT academics) as AD, Gailey would be a better coach. Unfortunately, Clough will get another yes-man as AD.

That, in a nutshell, is the crisis. Even if you hate Gailey, his renewal is a tempest in a teapot compared to the presence of Clough.

You are right, GT Tornado is not the entire board, but the post wouldn't be pushpinned at the top if it wasn't majority consensus and something the moderator felt very strongly about. So hence, I have to disagree with your assessment.
